A disturbing video from Gaza shows Hamas fighters executing seven men accused of collaborating with Israel. Reuters verified the footage’s location in Gaza City and confirmed it was filmed Monday. Hamas sources admitted responsibility, vowing zero tolerance for “traitors” as fighters reemerge on Gaza’s streets following the ceasefire.

Israel’s Netanyahu has decided on full occupation of Gaza, reports say
“The decision has been made,” Amit Sega, chief political analyst with Channel 12, quoted an unnamed senior official in Netanyahu’s office as saying.
“Hamas won’t release more hostages without total surrender, and we won’t surrender. If we don’t act now, the hostages will starve to death and Gaza will remain under Hamas’s control.”
Outrage in Israel as hostage ‘horror’ videos emerge at decision time for Netanyahu’s government
(August 4, 2025)
“The horror videos by Hamas stem from one goal – their attempt to pressure the State of Israel,” said Itmar Ben Gvir, the right-wing firebrand, in remarks made during a controversial visit to the Temple Mount, sacred for both Jews and Muslims, at the weekend.
“It is from here that a message must be sent: to conquer the entire Gaza Strip, declare sovereignty over all of Gaza, eliminate every Hamas member, and encourage voluntary emigration. Only in this way will we bring back the hostages and win the war,” Ben Gvir added.
In the face of Israel‘s genocide in Gaza, ongoing silence and inaction is complicity
For nearly two years, we have witnessed a live-streamed genocide. War crimes have been well-documented by journalists, rights groups, doctors and civilians. There’s enough evidence to sift through for decades to come.
Activists and celebrities have reminded the western world of their vow to “never again” allow something like this to happen. Countless social media campaigns have pleaded with the public to keep “all eyes on Rafah” and on Gaza.
But still the genocide persists. Israel’s actions in Gaza and the occupied West Bank have become more brazen and violent than ever.
Why is this happening? It’s not because Israel is a small beacon of democracy in the Middle East surrounded by enemies. Rather, it’s because Israel is a rogue state surrounded by capitulators who have allowed this to unfold.

Here’s what happened today
This live page will be closing soon. Here are today’s top developments:
Israeli attacks across Gaza killed at least 77 people, including 25 aid seekers, medical sources told Al Jazeera.
More than 100 aid agencies have warned of “mass starvation” of Palestinians in Gaza and called for an immediate ceasefire and all restrictions on humanitarian aid.
The Israeli government rejected the letter from the aid agencies, referring to them as echoing “Hamas propaganda”.
Al Jazeera’s Tareq Abu Azzoum, reporting from Deir el-Balah in Gaza, said: “Hunger has become as deadly as the bombs; families are no longer asking for enough, they are asking for anything.”
Israeli forces have shot and killed a teenager in the town of Arrabeh, south of Jenin in the occupied West Bank, the Wafa news agency reported.

‘They’ll kill us all’: Gazans plead for intervention as Israeli attacks intensify
(April 7, 2025)
“We are civilians in our homes,” Al-Aqqad pleaded. “We don’t want to be displaced to unsafe areas. The army targets everyone without exception. We want the world to act and save us, otherwise they’ll kill us all.”

Gaza is a mirror reflecting the world‘s absolute shame: Opinion
Never in recent history has a civilian population been locked into a fenced strip of land – denied food, water, and fuel – while being bombed from air, land, and sea.
This is not siege. It is the world’s first televised extermination.
A concentration camp under constant aerial assault.
(…)
What is happening in Gaza does more than violate law – it obliterates it.
It tears through every principle of humanity, every treaty that claims to uphold it.
The world did not merely fail Gaza. It abandoned her. And in doing so, it exposed itself.
Gaza is not just a killing field.
She is a mirror – and in her reflection, we see our absolute, unvarnished shame.
Egypt detains nearly 200 foreigners who flew in to join Gaza march
Egyptian authorities have detained and questioned more than 200 people who arrived in Cairo to participate in the Global March to Gaza, an international action intended to break Israel’s siege on the territory, the organisers said on Thursday.
According to the march organisers, some 4000 people from over 40 countries had booked flights to Cairo, with many already arriving ahead of the planned march.
The activists had flown to Cairo to join a grassroots land convoy which set off from the Tunisian capital on Monday in the hopes of reaching Egypt’s Rafah border with Gaza as a “symbolic act” to spotlight Israel’s crippling 18-year siege on the territory.
Israeli arms exports reach record high, as sales to Arab states rise sharply
Sales to Arab countries which signed normalisation deals with Israel, dubbed the Abraham Accords, rose from 3 percent in 2023 to 12 percent last year. The UAE, Bahrain, Morocco and Sudan normalised relations with Israel in 2020.
Elsewhere, Europe made up 54 percent of exports, Asia and the Pacific region was 23 percent, North America imported 9 percent, Latin America was at 1 percent, while Africa made up 1 percent.

UN rapporteur Francesca Albanese: World is watching a live genocide in Gaza and doing nothing
(April 15, 2025)
She says it is paralysed and complicit in what is unfolding.
In an exclusive interview with The New Arab, Albanese delivers a stark message. She says the situation in Gaza is not just a war but a genocide taking place in real time. She blames not only the Israeli military campaign but also the global indifference and support from powerful governments and corporations.
„I do not think there has been anything in modern history since the end of World War Two that is so sadistic and militarised as this attack,“ she says.
Why Arab leaders aren‘t helping the Palestinians in Gaza
(May 20, 2024)
“The Arab world has turned its citizens into consumers basically,” explained Rami G. Khouri, a distinguished public policy fellow at the American University of Beirut, in an interview with RS.
“You can consume anything you want. There are 25 different kinds of fried chicken which you can buy in most Arab capitals and that’s fine. That’s what the governments want is to have people spend their time, money, and thoughts on consumption. But anything that has to do with political power, public policy, and allocation of economic gains have to be controlled by the government,” he added.
Trump administration working on plan to move 1 million Palestinians to Libya
The Trump administration is working on a plan to permanently relocate up to 1 million Palestinians from the Gaza Strip to Libya, five people with knowledge of the effort told NBC News.
The plan is under serious enough consideration that the administration has discussed it with Libya’s leadership, two people with direct knowledge of the plans and a former U.S. official said.
In exchange for the resettling of Palestinians, the administration would potentially release to Libya billions of dollars of funds that the U.S. froze more than a decade ago, those three people said.
Gaza: Latest Israeli Plan Inches Closer to Extermination
Israeli authorities, who have blocked the entry of aid, food, fuel, and medical supplies into Gaza for 75 days, have reportedly decided on a plan that would include “flatten[ing]” buildings and displacing Gaza’s entire population into a single “humanitarian area” if no “deal” with Hamas is reached by mid-May 2025. The dire humanitarian situation stemming from the unlawful blockade and plans to escalate forced displacement and widespread destruction demand a more robust response from other governments and institutions, especially the United States, France, Germany, the European Union, and the United Kingdom. Human Rights Watch called on all parties to the Genocide Convention to do more to prevent further atrocities, including ending weapons sales, military assistance, and diplomatic support to Israel, imposing targeted sanctions on Israeli officials, and reviewing and considering suspending bilateral agreements.
“Hearing Israeli officials flaunt plans to squeeze Gaza’s 2 million people into an even tinier area while making the rest of the land uninhabitable should be treated like a five-alarm fire in London, Brussels, Paris, and Washington,” said Federico Borello, interim executive director of Human Rights Watch. “Israel’s blockade has transcended military tactics to become a tool of extermination.”
Jordan blocks access to Middle East Eye after investigation on Gaza aid drops
(today)
Jordanian authorities have blocked access to Middle East Eye‘s website, days after it published an investigation alleging that the Hashemite Kingdom had charged exorbitant fees while overseeing the delivery of international aid into Gaza.
Exclusive: Jordan profited up to $400,000 per Gaza aid airdrop, sources say
(May 8, 2025)
Sources say the Jordan Hashemite Charity Organization (JHCO), an official body overseeing humanitarian aid into Gaza, has coordinated with Israeli authorities to act as the sole conduit for aid passing through Jordan.
MEE spoke with sources from international aid organisations and people with direct knowledge of the JHCO’s operations.
One source said much of the aid attributed to the JHCO in fact originates from foreign governments and NGOs, both Jordanian and international, while direct contributions from the Jordanian state are negligible.
Jordanian authorities have demanded $2,200 for every aid truck entering Gaza, according to two NGO sources and two others familiar with the scheme.
The fee, aid organisations were told by the JHCO, is paid directly to the Jordanian Armed Forces.
In addition, Jordan has charged between $200,000 and $400,000 per airdrop over Gaza, the sources said.
