Germany’s angel of history is screaming

How can a country that professes to be a gatekeeper of international law staunchly defend a state that so flagrantly violates it? How does a country that has spent 80 years cultivating a culture of remembrance, responsibility, and moral accountability show ironclad commitment to arresting one international war criminal, while warmly welcoming another? And how can a country that utilizes the image of the ruins of Dresden to teach its schoolchildren about the dangers of dehumanization and fascism be so blind to its own complicity in an unfolding catastrophe?

During the Berlin Airlift, Planes Landed Every Half Minute

Three days was all it took for the Berlin Airlift to reach full momentum, with deliveries skyrocketing to 384 tons by the third day of operations.

You‘d be amazed by the airlift logistics that made this possible: planes touched down every 45 seconds at Tempelhof Airport during peak operations, with aircraft flying through designated corridors at different altitudes to prevent collisions.

The cargo management system was equally impressive. The construction of new runways by the 852nd Engineer Aviation Battalion was crucial to handle the intense aircraft traffic.

The USAF coordinated 189,963 flights, delivering a staggering 1,783,573 tons of supplies.

Red Crescent staff killed in Israeli attack on Gaza headquarters as aid crisis deepens

“One Palestine Red Crescent Society staff member was killed and three others injured after Israeli forces targeted the Society’s headquarters in Khan Younis, igniting a fire on the building’s first floor,” the aid organisation said in a social media post.

A video, which it said “captures the initial moments” of the attack, shows fires burning in a building, with the floors covered in rubble.
The news comes two days after US envoy Steve Witkoff visited a US-backed aid station in Gaza to inspect efforts to get food into the devastated Palestinian territory.

Family releases second Hamas propaganda clip of hostage Evyatar David, forced to dig own grave

He is seen sitting in what appears to be a tunnel, documenting his daily food intake in a handwritten chart. On several days, the chart reads “no food,” while on others it lists only “lentils.”

Later Saturday, the family also cleared for publication a second video dated July 27, in which David, visibly weakened and gaunt, says he has been without proper food or water for an extended period and claims he was forced by his captors to dig his own grave.
