(November 23, 2025)

Israeli chief of staff Eyal Zamir on Sunday dismissed senior officers in the military over „failure to prevent“ the 7 October 2023 attack by Hamas, local media reported.

Zamir ended the service of several retired generals, including the former Military Intelligence chief Aharon Haliva, former Southern Command chief Yaron Finkelman, and former Operations Directorate chief Oded Basyuk, according to the public broadcaster KAN.

The report said that Zamir also dismissed Gaza Division reserve commander Avi Rosenfeld, while the division’s intelligence officer was expelled from the army altogether.

To uncover the truth: Bereaved families establish the ‚October Council‘

(November 5, 2025)

„This issue is not political.“ I am a Zionist. We are a people who study and grapple with the truth. To this day, Jews sit in pairs every day and seek answers. Even to the most difficult questions. There is no disagreement here; we all want to learn from our experience of October 7th. I join the 85% of Israeli citizens who are calling for the establishment of an immediate and proper state commission of inquiry to investigate everything and everyone.

Who Are We

After two years of war in Gaza — a war rooted in decades of occupation — the West Bank is in the midst of an ethnic-cleansing campaign accompanied by settler violence, while the army and police stand by and even assist the lawbreakers. The remaining shepherding communities in the West Bank, those who have not yet been expelled, are experiencing distress and adversity greater than ever before. All of these — and more — are the result of Israel’s failed strategy in dealing with the ongoing occupation. We stay continuously in the occupied West Bank to defend and protect the local inhabitants.

We, the activists of “Looking the Occupation in the Eye,” are all volunteers committed to human rights and to the future of this country. We stand in opposition to the occupation and work to bring it to an end.

Today. This is the Day After

(October 10, 2025)

There’s no doubt that this is not the future that Netanyahu and Hamas desire. Trump’s outline seeks to provide a long-term solution and has been endorsed by more than 150 countries. And for that very reason — exactly because both of the sides are displeased by the agreement — it might stand a chance.

This agreement is being signed by two sides who for 30 years have been trying to sabotage the Oslo Accords. It is not by coincidence that Netanyahu and Hamas were almost allied in recent history.

This is why the public cannot allow itself to just wait around for the conclusion of the „first stage“ like it did in the first months of the war. Back then, statements like ‘’this isn’t the time for politics’’ were running rampant. The belief was that, because Hamas committed acts of atrocity, it should be completely desecrated — and so festered and bubbled national desires of revenge. And through this exact desire the ‘’enlightened’’ public cleared the road for Netanyahu and his messianic gang.

Back then ‘’Brothers in Arms’’ and other democracy-inclined (for jews only) organizations ceased their struggle against the fascist government; under slogans like ‘’Yachad Nenatzeach’’ (together we will win). Meanwhile, their opponents in the right made sure to strengthen their hold in the government and, namely, the military, the police, the shin-bet, the judicial system, and the major public service departments. We cannot make this mistake again.

Israel is waging a holocaust in Gaza. Denazification is our only remedy

What Israel is doing in Gaza City is not the tragic byproduct of chaotic events on the ground, but a well-calculated act of annihilation, executed in cold blood by “the people’s army” — that is, the fathers, sons, brothers, and neighbors of us Israelis.

How is it that, despite the mounting testimonies from Gaza’s concentration and extermination camps, no mass refusal movement has taken root in Israel? That after two years of this carnage barely a handful of conscientious objectors sit in prison is truly inconceivable. Even the so-called “gray refusers” — reserve soldiers who do not oppose the war on ideological grounds but are simply exhausted and questioning its purpose — remain far too few to slow the killing machine, let alone bring it to a halt.

Who are these obedient souls who keep this system running? How can a society so deeply fractured — between the religious and the secular, settlers and liberals, kibbutzniks and urbanites, veteran immigrants and new arrivals — unite only in its willingness to slaughter Palestinians without a moment’s hesitation?

19.09.2025 - 03:05 [ +972 Magazine ]

Israel’s opposition is plotting a return to power. But it remains its own worst enemy

Yet such promises count for little at a time when Israel’s current government continues to bomb, shell, and starve Palestinians in Gaza, all while taking rapid steps toward formally annexing the West Bank. Nor has the opposition — neither its parliamentary representatives, like the Democrats, or the protest movement in the streets — shown the ability to turn growing discontent over the government’s handling of the war and abandonment of the hostages into a full-throated defense of Palestinians’ humanity.

Until they do, it is hard to imagine just how different the next government, whoever comprises it, will be when it comes to the prospect of peace and equality for all the people in this land.

MK Cassif: More of Us in Israel are Saying No to this Endless War

(August 27, 2025)

As the descendant of a Jewish family from Poland, the words “never again” have significant meaning for me. In the aftermath of the Second World War, humankind vowed to never again allow such atrocities to occur. The Holocaust, the mass extermination of the Jewish people, plumbed the very depths of tyrannical evil. Precisely because of this heritage, I view “never again” as a universal imperative.

In 1948, the international community adopted the universal declaration of human rights and the convention on the prevention and punishment of the crime of genocide. In the decades since, we have failed globally many times to safeguard this invaluable truth: that people must not perish in flames, and such heinous crimes must not be perpetrated while outsiders stand idly by. But never in recent times have people around the world started into the abyss of annihilation as we are doing today in Gaza. As such, “never again” is not merely a moral reminder but an ethical decree to act.

Fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me, as the saying goes. It seems that Netanyahu manages to fool western leaders time and time again. On Friday, in response to the IPC declaration of famine, the UK foreign secretary, David Lammy, said it was an “utterly horrifying and wholly preventable man-made catastrophe”. May I ask Lammy and the rest of the British cabinet – are you among the people responsible for this catastrophe?

All Universities, 75 Local Authorities to Back Aug. 17 Strike; Hadash and CPI: General Strike Now Against War

(August 13, 2025)

According to the CPI and Hadash, “The murder of civilians, the kidnapping of innocent people, and the bloodshed endured by Palestinians in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank, as well as Israeli citizens, are a direct result of a war fundamentally fueled by immense profits. This profit is reaped by weapons corporations, primarily Israel’s defense industries, which exclusively dominate the top 100 highest-paid positions in government-owned companies. The Israeli government’s alliance with US arms industries provides absolute backing for this system of annihilation, fueling the continuation of violence.”

“Every strike is a political strike, and everything is ‘strikable’! The war exacerbates the cost of living and directly harms workers and their work. A political strike is a democratic right and is now a duty! A strike that will end the war and bring everyone home will occur when the people themselves decide to organize and strike,” said.

“Against the mechanism of killing and neglect, we have one power – the power of our labor. A large-scale strike based on broad solidarity is the workers’ answer to the oppression of war. It is fundamental humanity and the right thing to do to stop indiscriminate violence towards the most vulnerable. Without our labor, it is impossible to continue operating the killing machine: not the planes, not the factories, not the tanks, not the transportation, and not the economy that feeds the war, agreed. “Shutdown and refusal until the war is stopped! No more profits at the cost of our blood! No more annihilation!”

All universities, colleges and dozens of local authorities threw their weight Tuesday behind a planned nationwide strike next week called by families of hostages to protest the continuation of the war there and the government’s approval of a plan for the occupation of Gaza City. Universities and municipalities said they would allow staff to attend protest events but refrained from formally declaring a strike.
