Netanyahu slated to speak at UN on Sept. 26
An international summit on Palestinian statehood, which France and Saudi Arabia are slated to sponsor, is scheduled for Sept. 22 in conjunction with the General Assembly. The organizers hope to draw heads of state and government.
The summit’s precursor—a conference held last week at the United Nations—coincided with several countries declaring their intentions to recognize a Palestinian state at the September summit.
Israel is not expected to participate in the September summit after avoiding last week’s conference.
Netanyahu: Israel intends to wrestle control of all Gaza, hand it over to non-hostile Arab forces
The Security Cabinet convened at 6 p.m. at the Prime Minister’s Office in Jerusalem for the debate and a subsequent vote. The session is scheduled to last until 11 p.m. but expected to last well into the night.
Netanyahu seeks full military control of Gaza before handing it to Arab forces
“We don‘t want to be there as a governing body,” he said. “We want to hand it over to Arab forces that will govern it properly without threatening us and giving Gazans a good life.”
Half-a-million members sign up to new left-wing party founded in Britain
(August 4, 2025)
Already, more than 500,000 people have signed up to join the new party. By comparison, the ruling Labour Party has 309,000 members, the Conservatives 123,000, and the neo-fascist Reform UK party of Nigel Farage counts 227,000.
Netanyahu briefs visiting members of US Congress on Gaza war
Mossad chief David Barnea, and US Congressmen Rick Crawford, Josh Gottheimer and Ronny Jackson were present at the meeting, adds the PMO, without providing further details.
In a separate statement, the PMO says that Netanyahu met yesterday evening with an AIPAC-organized delegation of Republican US members of Congress.
REPORT via Channel 13: Leaked Israeli Records Show Government Pursued Starvation Strategy to Force Hamas Surrender
Channel 13 has published internal Israeli government transcripts from March 2025 revealing that Israel’s war cabinet knowingly restricted all humanitarian aid to Gaza in hopes it would break Hamas—a strategy that inflicted mass suffering but failed to deliver desired results. The records also show that Israel was not met with resistance or bad faith in negotiations with Hamas — yet it broke the ceasefire and escalated anyway.
Israeli security cabinet chose starvation policy in Gaza over deal to free captives: Report
Hebrew media cited leaked documents showing that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu actively pursued a policy of starvation in a bid to bring about Hamas’s surrender.
The documents also show that Netanyahu refused to move forward with Phase 2 of the last ceasefire deal – despite internal warnings urging him to secure a release of captives before returning to fighting.
The documents confirmed that Netanyahu and the war cabinet “instructed the [army] to stop all humanitarian aid and close the Rafah crossing” in early March.
Ofer Cassif removed from Knesset podium for quoting David Grossman
The Israeli newspaper Haaretz reports that Israeli parliamentarian Ofer Cassif, from the left-wing Hadash-Ta’al party, was forcibly removed from the Knesset podium on Monday night during a plenary session after quoting renowned Israeli writer and novelist David Grossman, who acknowledged in an interview with the Italian daily La Repubblica last week that, with “‘immense pain and a broken heart”, Israel is currently committing “genocide” in Gaza. “For years I refused to use the term genocide, but now, after the images I’ve seen and after speaking to people who were there, I can no longer avoid it,’” Cassif said in his speech. Haaretz said the session was chaired by deputy Knesset Speaker Nissim Vaturi, who interrupted Cassif, saying “That’s not a quote – that’s made up,” and demanded Cassif be removed from the podium, followed by Likud member Tali Gottlieb who shouted: “He will not say ‘genocide’ in here!” before Knesset ushers physically removed Cassif from the podium.
EU diplomats confirm they won‘t yet sanction Israel on Gaza
(August 4, 2025)
Gathered online for their regular Mashreq/Maghreb Working Party and despite mounting pressure on Israel over the hunger crisis in Gaza, the 27 EU diplomats still couldn’t reach any qualified majority on a European Commission proposal to cut Israel from partial access to the EU‘s €95 billion Horizon Europe research fund.
“The situation has not changed,” one EU diplomat said, referring to a formal meeting of EU ambassadors last week which also failed to agree to the Commission’s proposal. The diplomat said the issue was now in the hands of the EU’s foreign affairs ministers, who will meet informally on 29 August.
EU credibility at risk over Israel stance, warns ex-ambassador
(August 6, 2025)
Kühn von Burgsdorff served as EU ambassador to Palestinian occupied territories and the Gaza Strip between January 2020 and July 2023. He was recently a coordinator of a letter sent by 27 former EU ambassadors – and subsequently endorsed by 58 – to heads of governments and EU institutions on July 10, calling for actions against Israel due to the ongoing situations in Gaza and in the West Bank.
Open letter from 34 ex-EU ambassadors: ‚Act now against Israel‘
(July 23, 2025)
The world will remember how the EU and its member states respond to this catastrophic tragedy.
Silence and neutrality in the face of genocide constitute complicity. Inaction emboldens perpetrators and betrays every principle the Union and its member states claim to uphold.
While continuing to call unceasingly for the return of the hostages, a permanent ceasefire and the end to the war, the European Union, long a champion of human rights and the rule of law, must act now in the name of international law, humanity, and justice for the Palestinian people — or risk forfeiting its credibility, influence and moral standing in the world.
Gaza: Alarm over Israeli move to deregister NGOs
“Unless urgent action is taken…most international NGO partners could be de-registered by 9 September or sooner – forcing them to withdraw all international staff and preventing them from providing critical, lifesaving humanitarian assistance to Palestinians,” said UN and partner aid organizations that are known collectively as the Humanitarian Country Team in the Occupied Palestinian Territory (OPT).
The UN understands that organizations must now submit, amongst others, details of representatives and all employees in-country, including Palestinian and foreign workers, with full identification and contact details.
Gaza crisis deepens as UN warns children are ‘dying before reaching hospital’
Children in Gaza are dying not just from hunger, but from the total collapse of the systems meant to protect them, UN agencies warned on Tuesday.
With 96 per cent of households lacking clean water, many malnourished children are not surviving long enough to receive hospital care.
James Elder, Spokesperson for the UN Children’s Fund (UNICEF), told a media briefing in Geneva that it would be a mistake to assume that the situation was improving.
“There’s a sense through the world’s press that things are improving,” he said. “But unless there is sustained humanitarian aid…there will be horrific results.”
Twenty killed after trucks overturn in Gaza, Hamas-run civil defence says
The area was under Israeli military control and the roads were rugged and dangerous, civil defence agency spokesman Mahmoud Basal said.
The private transport association now operating in Gaza said that 26 commercial trucks entered the territory on Tuesday. Six were looted, and four of those overturned, resulting in deaths and injuries.
UN Reports 88 Percent of Aid Trucks Slated for Delivery in Gaza Since May Looted Along Routes
(August 3, 2025)
Data from the United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS) showed that between May 19 and August 5, more than 2,600 trucks carrying humanitarian aid crossed from Israel into Gaza. However, only 300 of these trucks reached their intended destinations in Gaza during that period, with some 2,309 trucks being “intercepted” and looted along their delivery routes — undermining the recent claim of Tom Fletcher, the UN under-secretary-general for humanitarian affairs, that “the vast majority of the aid gets to civilians.” UNOPS’s data did not distinguish between the parties responsible for the interceptions, noting only that the aid was stolen by either “armed actors” or “hungry people.”
Video shows crowds of Palestinians running towards aid trucks in Gaza
(10 hours ago)
U.N. convoys have been repeatedly overwhelmed by looters and desperate crowds in recent days, and witnesses say Israeli forces have repeatedly opened fire. At least 28 Palestinians were killed overnight and into Wednesday in the Morag Corridor, an Israeli military zone in southern Gaza.
‚It‘s like Judgment Day‘: Palestinians in Gaza ‚fight‘ to collect aid
(August 5, 2025)
Israel‘s blockade and military offensive have made it nearly impossible to safely deliver aid, contributing to the territory‘s slide toward famine nearly 22 months into the war with Hamas.

‚Driving blind‘: Gaza truck drivers describe what it‘s like delivering aid
Aug 5, 2025 #israel #gaza
Truck drivers trying to deliver aid inside Gaza say their work has become increasingly dangerous. Crowds of hungry people routinely rip aid off the backs of moving trucks, some trucks are hijacked by armed men working for gangs who sell the aid in Gaza’s markets for exorbitant prices, and Israeli troops often shoot into the chaos.
Gaza death toll from Israeli war tops 61,100, including 193 from starvation
(August 6, 2025)
A ministry statement said that 138 bodies were brought to hospitals in the last 24 hours, while 771 people were injured, taking the number of injuries to 151,442 in the Israeli onslaught.
The ministry also said that five more people died from starvation and malnutrition over the past day, pushing the death toll since October 2023 to 193, including 96 children.
