THE FREEDOM FLOTILLA IS SETTING SAIL AGAIN
Siracusa, Italy — On July 13, 2025 the Freedom Flotilla Coalition (FFC) will launch Handala—a civilian boat setting out to challenge Israel’s illegal, deadly blockade of Gaza. The vessel will carry life-saving humanitarian aid and a message of solidarity from people around the world refusing to stay silent as Gaza is starved, bombed, and buried under rubble.
This mission comes just weeks after Israel’s illegal attack on the Madleen, another Freedom Flotilla boat illegally seized by Israel in international waters. Twelve unarmed civilians—including a Member of the European Parliament, a doctor, journalists and human rights defenders—were abducted by Israeli commandos and taken against their will to Israel, where they were interrogated, abused, then deported. Their “crime”? Attempting to bring food, medicine, and solidarity to Palestinians under siege.

Israel denying treatment to thousands of Gazans who lost limbs in Israeli attacks, almost 1,000 of them children

According to conversations PHRI staff held with doctors in the Strip, as well as information published by Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF), doctors report a severe shortage of painkillers, which has led to amputations being performed without anesthesia, including in children. Doctors have also reported performing amputations in unsanitary conditions, without proper surgical equipment, and in some cases even outside of hospital buildings. In situations where basic medications such as antibiotics were unavailable, doctors had to amputate limbs to save lives – even in cases where amputation could have been avoided under normal circumstances.
According to the WHO report, about 4,370 adults and children who lost limbs during the current war are still waiting to receive assistive devices such as crutches or prosthetics. Additionally, 83% of people currently living with a disability in the Gaza Strip lost their assistive devices and other essential equipment during displacement.
American beaten to death by Israeli settlers in the West Bank
Sayfollah Musallet, known as Saif, was “brutally beaten to death” in the town of al-Mazra’a ash-Sharqiya, north of Ramallah, the family said in a statement on social media and confirmed to NBC News. According to the family, a group of settlers blocked an ambulance from reaching Musallet for about three hours.
After the settlers cleared, Musallet’s brother was able to reach him and carry him to the ambulance, according to the statement. However, “Saif died before reaching the hospital.
Stop Israel’s Dystopian “Humanitarian City” Plan—Before It’s Too Late
The Israeli government has just put forward one of the most brazenly genocidal schemes in modern memory—and unless we act immediately, the world will once again let it happen.
As reported in Haaretz, Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz is proposing to force some 600,000 Palestinians—and eventually the entire population of Gaza—into a fenced-in “humanitarian city” to be built on the ruins of Rafah in southern Gaza. The plan is to “screen” the population, separate out alleged Hamas members, and then pressure the remaining civilians—men, women, and children—to “voluntarily” leave Gaza for another country. Which country? That hasn’t even been determined. The point isn’t relocation—it’s erasure. This reflects a long-standing goal among many Israelis, especially on the right, to take full control of Gaza and clear it of Palestinians.
Knesset Suspends Hadash MK Cassif for Accusing Israeli Soldiers of Committing Genocide in Gaza
“It’s not a matter of parliamentary ethics, but of political censorship and persecution as well as terrorization (“chilling effect”) of the entire leftist camp, Arabs and Jews alike,” Cassif wrote in a response posted to X. “The real end behind this suspension is to thwart our faction from any parliamentary activity altogether, and, in the longer run, to eliminate any representation of the Arab and the democratic Jewish citizens. My repeated suspensions are merely the appetizer, as they were.”
Cassif was instead suspended by the Ethics Committee in November 2024 for six months due to critics against ethnic cleansing in Gaza and attempt to oust Cassif from his sea failed in the Knesset plenum in February 2024 due to insufficient support from the opposition, with only 85 MKs voting in favor, short of the required 90. That effort to remove Cassif from the parliament came in response to his public support for South Africa’s case against Israel at the International Court of Justice.
Israel’s Plan for Concentration Camp in Gaza Constitutes a War Crime
Zo Haderekh also reported on the plans presented by Israel’s defense establishment to expel the population of Gaza in a “humanitarian city”. This concentration camp constitutes a blatantly illegal order, 16 Israeli experts in international law and the laws of war warned Israel’s Defense Minister Israel Katz and the Israel army chief of staff Lt. Gen. Eyal Zamir in a public letter issued Friday. In the letter, the experts warned that implementation of the plan would constitute a war crime and a crime against humanity. They said that under certain conditions, it could also be considered genocide. “We call on all relevant parties to publicly withdraw from the plan, renounce it and refrain from carrying it out,” they wrote.
On Friday morning, two protesters were arrested in front of Defense Minister home in Kfar Ahim, in southern Israel, during a demonstration against his proposal to establish a “humanitarian city” in Rafah for Gaza’s population.

Gaza death toll surges to 57,882 amid ongoing Israeli genocide
GAZA, July 12, 2025 (WAFA) – At least 59 Palestinians were killed and 208 others were injured in the Gaza Strip over the last 24 hours as a result of the ongoing Israeli genocide in the region, according to medical sources.
Local health authorities confirmed that the Palestinian death toll from the Israeli onslaught since October 2023 has risen to 57,882 fatalities, with an additional 138,095 people sustaining injuries. The majority of the victims are women and children.

UK: Protesters prepare to defy Palestine Action ban in shows of support

On Saturday, groups of activists will gather for a series of protests coordinated by the campaign group Defend Our Juries (DOJ) in London, Manchester and Cardiff. An independently organised protest will also be staged in Derry in Northern Ireland.
Protesters plan to hold signs reading: “I oppose genocide. I support Palestine Action.“
This follows the arrest of 29 people under Section 13 of the Terrorism Act, including an 83-year-old retired priest and an emergency worker, for holding the same signs in Parliament Square last weekend.
