World Court to Review 57-Year Israeli Occupation
(The Hague) – An unprecedented number of countries and international organizations are expected to participate in the International Court of Justice’s (ICJ) oral hearings on Israel’s occupation beginning February 19, 2024, Human Rights Watch said today. Fifty-two countries and three international organizations will participate in the oral proceedings, more than in any other case since the world’s highest court began functioning in 1946.

US envoy doesn‘t expect Ukraine NATO invitation at July summit

The U.S. ambassador to NATO, Julianne Smith, said on Tuesday she does not expect the alliance to issue a membership invitation to Ukraine at its summit in Washington this coming July.
„As for the summit this summer, I do not expect the alliance to issue an invitation at this juncture,“ Smith said in response to a question on a call with journalists ahead of a NATO defence ministers‘ meeting on Thursday.
US State Department comments on Ukraine‘s desire to join NATO

The US Department of State has said that Ukraine‘s accession to NATO is not expected to be considered at this year‘s summit, and is likely to take place „after the war“.
