MK Ayman Odeh tells journalists that his Hadash front will not support the far-right government’s proposed bill to regulate ultra-Orthodox enlistment, stating that “there will be no scenario in which Hadash-Ta’al faction will support, be absent, abstain, or act in any way that could be interpreted as a lifeline for the government.” “We want to create complications for the government; we want to shorten its days. Anything that helps bring down the government — Hadash–Ta’al will support,” he added.

Broken ceasefires, bombing, ground incursions and mounting deaths: Israeli imperialism is now expanding across the region
Israeli forces penetrate Quneitra countryside
This comes a day after a similar incursion into the village of al-Samdaniyah al-Gharbiyah, where Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the crossroads leading to the villages of al-Mushairifeh, al-Sa‘aydah, and Rweihinah, south of Quneitra, according to the same sources.
These daily Israeli movements continue without any response from the Syrian Transitional Government.
Israel hits multiple towns in southern Lebanon as attacks intensify
Since that truce took effect, Israel has conducted near-daily attacks across Lebanon that have killed more than 300 people, including at least 127 civilians, according to the United Nations.
Zeina Khodr, Al Jazeera’s correspondent in Lebanon, said the timing of Thursday’s attacks was crucial as they came a day after an “unprecedented shift in the nature” of Lebanon’s talks with Israel.
Israel kills six Palestinians in Gaza, and burns entire family alive in tent in ‚safe‘ zone
Israel killed at least six people, including children and women, in multiple air strikes across the Gaza Strip on Thursday as it continues to violate the ceasefire agreement on a near-daily basis.
In one strike, Israeli military incinerated a father Fathi Abu Hussein and his eight-year-old son Bilal and ten-year-old son Mohammed in their tent after they targeted the Al-Mawasi tent camp in a ‚safe‘ zone as people slept and then struck the vicinity of a nearby hospital a short while later, Al Jazeera reported.
The strikes also wounded 16 others.
Exclusive: Survivors clinging to capsized boat didn’t radio for backup, admiral overseeing double-tap strike tells lawmakers
For a little under an hour — 41 minutes, according to a separate US official — Bradley and the rest of the US military command center discussed what to do as they watched the men struggle to overturn what was left of their boat, the sources said.
Ultimately, Bradley told lawmakers, he ordered a second strike to destroy the remains of the vessel, killing the two survivors, on the grounds that it appeared that part of the vessel remained afloat because it still held cocaine, according to one of the sources. The survivors could hypothetically have floated to safety, been rescued, and carried on with trafficking the drugs, the logic went.
The other source with direct knowledge of the briefing called that rationale “f**king insane.”
Lawmakers see video of second strike on boat survivors, say admiral testified there was no kill order
GOP Sen. Tom Cotton, the chairman of the Senate Intelligence Committee, and Rep. Jim Himes, the top Democrat on the House Intelligence Committee, spoke with reporters after the briefings. They both said Bradley told them that he had not been ordered to leave no survivors. The initial Post report quoted an anonymous source as saying that, before the first strike, Hegseth verbally ordered that everyone on the boat be taken out. „The order was to kill everybody,“ the Post‘s story quoted the source as saying. Hegseth has denied the Post‘s account.

Guest: Erika Kirk, C.E.O. and Chair of the Board of Turning Point USA
Interviewer: Andrew Ross Sorkin, Founder and Editor at Large of DealBook
Erika Kirk Speaks to the Liberal Elite—and Almost Sticks the Landing
Though Kirk has become a national figure since the death of her husband, her selection as the closing speaker at the annual summit for the Times’ business vertical was unexpected. But Sorkin explained the reason for the decision after the two got onstage. About a year ago, he said, he met and befriended Charlie. The two texted and emailed frequently about their political disagreements.
“Charlie Kirk was supposed to be here today. He was supposed to be part of a task force that we had been talking about for quite some time,” Sorkin said. He decided to instead extend the invitation to Erika Kirk after she spoke ahead of President Donald Trump at her husband’s televised memorial service. “I sat and watched the funeral by video, and I watched you, and I sat in awe…when you forgave the assassin…. It was at that moment I said to myself, I need to talk to Erika,” Sorkin explained.
