Congressional Candidate Matt Morgan going door to door in Escanaba

„If you‘re a primary voter and you‘re coming out in three weeks to vote in the primary and you vote a democratic ticket, I just need you to find the House of Representatives line and write in Matt Morgan and fill in that bubble. I am the only candidate running for the House of Representatives as a Democrat so you just have to write in Matt Morgan and fill in that bubble.“

Technical issue could keep Democrat off ballot

(30.4.2018) The Michigan Bureau of Elections notified the Morgan campaign last week that it would not recommend the state Board of Canvassers certify the 1,543 petition signatures that he submitted in early March to qualify for the August primary ballot, the campaign said.

At issue was the use of the campaign‘s Post Office box in the heading of the nominating petitions, rather than a street address.

NOPD Arrests Two Officers For Assault, Begins Termination Proceedings

“After gathering multiple video accounts and eyewitness statements, the evidence collected by our PIB investigators clearly demonstrates that our officers were the aggressors in this incident,” NOPD Superintendent Michael Harrison said. “Members of our department are expected to comply with the law and adhere to the highest standards of professional conduct, whether on- or off-duty. The swift pace at which the Public Integrity Bureau investigated this incident and the decisive actions taken by the NOPD today by arresting the officers and starting the termination process clearly demonstrate how seriously our department views their actions.”

Israeli Arab Leader Suspended From Knesset Debates for Insulting Police Officers

(3.7.2018) The incident in questioned occurred after a protest in Haifa against the killing of Palestinians along the border between the Gaza Strip and Israel. Odeh had gone to the Bnei Zion (Rothschild) Medical Center in Haifa to visit human rights activist Jafar Farah, who claims that an Israel Police officer had cursed and beaten him during the demonstration. When the police tried to prevent the MK from entering the hospital, Odeh responded by yelling insults at them, telling them, “Who are you at all? Go to hell!“ And, he added, “You are nothing!”

Ethics Committee members decided that with such behavior, Odeh had violated the directive whereby MKs must act in a way that is appropriate to their status as representatives of the public.

Case Against Policemen Who Assaulted Israeli Arab Lawmaker Dropped

(29.7.2018) The investigation first focused on the sponge-tipped bullets. The police rebutted Odeh’s claim that he was hit by one, arguing that no fire was directed at him and that he was hit by stones thrown by protesters. A medical report could not determine what caused his wound, and questions remain.

Haaretz has learned that none of the policemen had mentioned the confrontation with Odeh in his report, and investigators could not identify who used the pepper spray, even though the entire incident was documented on videotape.

(19.7.2018) The CIA had a top secret informant close to Vladimir Putin who confirmed the Russian president’s personal involvement in hacking the 2016 US election, it has been claimed.

According to the New York Times the source was giving information to the CIA during the Obama administration.

The information, and the source, were reportedly considered so sensitive that John Brennan, the CIA director at the time, gave details to Mr Obama in an envelope, separate from the daily presidential intelligence briefing that is delivered in the Oval Office, the New York Times reported.
