Eine Außenministerin verteidigt das Bombardieren von Krankenhäusern und Schulen; ein Bundeskanzler beschreibt einen illegalen, unprovozierten Luftkrieg als notwendige »Drecksarbeit«; Politiker und Journalisten stellen immer wieder infrage, ob die grausamen Bilder von Massenmord in Gaza nicht vielleicht doch gestellt sind. Demonstrierende werden auf Berliner Straßen von der Polizei brutal zusammengeschlagen, und die liberalen Stimmen, die sonst ihre Bereitschaft, für die freie Meinungsäußerung zu sterben, laut kundtun, bleiben auf einmal still. Eine unfassbare Entmenschlichung macht sich breit, und diejenigen, die diese kritisieren – darunter nicht wenige Menschen jüdischer Abstammung – werden als Antisemiten diffamiert. Es fühlt sich nicht selten so an, als würde Deutschland eine Parallelrealität bewohnen.
UN Human Rights Office updates database of businesses involved in Israeli settlements in occupied West Bank
GENEVA – The UN Human Rights Office today issued an update to its database of businesses involved in certain activities in illegal Israeli settlements in the occupied Palestinian territory, listing a total of 158 business enterprises from 11 countries.
The report was mandated by the UN Human Rights Council, and today’s release updates the database that was first issued in 2020, then updated in 2023. It identifies businesses involved in specific activities listed by the Council resolution, including: supplying equipment and materials that facilitate the construction and maintenance of illegal settlements, demolition of houses and property of Palestinians, surveillance activities, the use of natural resources for business purposes, and the pollution and dumping of waste in Palestinian villages.
Gaza Ministry of Health updates official death toll from Israel’s war to 65,549
That is since the war began on October 7, 2023. The ministry added that 167,518 people had been injured.
Thousands Protest Netanyahu’s U.N. Speech in New York City
As Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu of Israel addressed the United Nations General Assembly on Friday morning, protesters on the streets of New York City addressed Mr. Netanyahu and the world.
The demonstrators began gathering in Times Square, across town from the United Nations building, early in the morning. A Palestinian flag flapped in the breeze as some of the protesters, most of them young, held signs reading “End All U.S. Aid to Israel,” “Arrest Netanyahu” and “Stop Starving Gaza Now!”

Netanyahu to address UN as Trump vows to block West Bank annexation
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s speech at the UN today will be broadcast in Gaza, according to two Israeli officials. Ahead of the address, Israel launched a campaign in New York featuring signs on the October 7 attacks, which a source said is a central theme of the speech.
Netanyahu will meet Monday with US President Donald Trump, who has vowed to block any attempt by Israel to annex the West Bank — a message that comes on the heels of a US-proposed peace plan recently discussed with Arab leaders.
Comey indicted for alleged false statements, obstruction of congressional proceeding
The indictment alleges that Comey obstructed a congressional investigation into the disclosure of sensitive information in violation of 18 USC 1505.
The indictment also alleges Comey made a false statement when he stated he did not authorize someone at the FBI to be an anonymous source. According to the indictment, that statement was false.
Former FBI Director James Comey indicted days after Trump demanded his DOJ move ‚now‘ to prosecute enemies
The charges follow Trump‘s ousting of the U.S. attorney for the Eastern District of Virginia, Erik Siebert, who according to sources had expressed doubts internally about bringing cases against Comey, as well as New York Attorney General Letitia James, after Trump appointed him to lead the office.
Trump then immediately moved to install Lindsey Halligan, a White House aide and his former defense attorney, to lead the office, despite her having no prior prosecutorial experience.
Tony Blair proposed as chief of Gaza transitional authority, reports say
Tony Blair is in discussions to lead a transitional authority in the Gaza Strip as part of a US-backed plan for post-war governance, according to reports.
Israeli media and the BBC reported on Friday that the former UK prime minister is being considered for the role.
Israeli attacks kill Oxfam partner colleague, destroy clinics in Gaza
Oxfam is deeply appalled and mourns the killing of Tasneem, 27, and her two children, Sham (5), and Suleiman (3), in an Israeli airstrike on 20 September. Tasneem was a psychologist at Oxfam‘s partner organization, Juzoor for Health and Community Development.
“Tasneem was a courageous and devoted humanitarian. Despite constant danger, she served those in desperate need to the end. Her death, along with her children, is a heartbreaking tragedy. This violence is destroying those who are trying to help. It is incomprehensible and it must end. Enough is enough,” said Dr Umiayeh Khammash, Director of Juzoor.
Tasneem was pregnant when she died and had already lost her son Muslam in a previous attack last year. Tasneem’s husband remains critically injured from the recent attack.
Death toll from Israeli aggression on Gaza rises to 65,502
The death toll from the Israeli occupation‘s aggression on the Gaza Strip since Oct. 7, 2023, has risen to 65,502 martyrs, in addition to 167,367 wounded, the majority of whom are children and women.
In a statement on Thursday, the Ministry of Health in Gaza confirmed that 83 martyrs and 216 wounded arrived at Gaza Strip hospitals over the past 24 hours. The death toll since March 18, when the occupation violated the ceasefire agreement, has reached 12,939 martyrs and 55,335 wounded.
Death toll in Gaza since dawn rises to 27
At least 27 Palestinians have been killed by Israeli fire in Gaza since dawn, hospital sources have told Al Jazeera.
Among the victims were at least 16 people killed while seeking aid at US and Israel-backed distribution sites.
