Iran Says Europe Needs A Nuclear Deal ‚Not To Freeze‘ This Winter

Once the deal is restored the United States will lift oil export sanctions imposed by former President Donald Trump when he withdrew from the JCPOA in 2018. It will also remove international banking restrictions also imposed as part of Trump’s ‘maximum pressure’ on Tehran.

But what Iranian media presents as ‘Europe’s freezing winter” has almost nothing to do with Tehran’s crude oil exports, except generally helping to bring down oil prices. Europe’s need to replace Russian gas is a specific issue on its own that Iran cannot help with at all.

Granholm to Europe: Tough Luck – The Energy Secretary bullies U.S. companies to reduce fuel exports.

America’s allies in Europe are desperate for alternative supplies of fuel amid the Ukraine war, and U.S. producers are happy to provide what they can. So wouldn’t you know the Biden Administration now wants to limit fuel exports.

That’s the message Energy Secretary Jennifer Granholm sent last week in a letter imploring seven major refiners to limit fuel exports. We obtained a copy of the letter, which the Administration didn’t release publicly.

We risk ending up with calamitous poverty, civil disobedience, a new socialist government by next year, a break-up of the UK, nationalisations, price and incomes policies, punitive wealth taxes and eventually a complete economic and financial meltdown and IMF bailout. Demonstration vor Wien Energie – „Preise müssen runter“

Rund 1,2 Millionen Mitglieder zählt der Österreichische Gewerkschaftsbund. Möglichst viele davon sollen am 17. September zur „Preise runter“-Demo nach Wien kommen. Doch bereits am heutigen 1. September gibt es in dieser Hinsicht eine kleine Auftaktveranstaltung.

Energie-Preise zu hoch – Bäckereien vor dem Aus

Von der Bundessparte Gewerbe und Handwerk heißt es dazu gegenüber der APA, dass für einen kleinen, regionalen Bäckereinahversorger mit „vergleichsweise sehr günstigen Energieverträgen“ die Kosten von 17.600 Euro auf 54.000 Euro im Jahr rasant gestiegen seien.

Zudem sei in den letzten Monaten auch der Preis für Getreide und Mehl stark gestiegen.
