“The Global Sumud Flotilla, whose crew composed of human rights defenders, doctors, parliamentarians, activists and journalists from over 40 countries, and other previous peaceful initiatives that attempted to break Israel’s unlawful blockade, have emerged as a powerful symbol of solidarity with besieged, starved and suffering Palestinians in the Gaza Strip. The very fact that they had to set sail in the first place is a clear indictment of the international community’s persistent failure to end Israel’s ongoing genocide and to ensure the unhindered flow of aid to Palestinians in the Gaza Strip.
“The time for mere condemnation is over. States worldwide must act now and now make clear that they will no longer tolerate Israel’s systematic starvation of Palestinians in Gaza nor its targeting of unarmed civilian humanitarian efforts. The decades-long impunity for Israel’s blatant violations of international law must end, nothing can justify genocide.

Global Sumud Flotilla: Colombia expels Israel’s trade delegates after kidnapping of activists

Colombia to cancel free trade deal with Israel, “reform” treaty with US
(September 30, 2025)
„We had the most powerful international trade agreement with the Andean Pact. And now the political satraps come out and say that it is with the United States. When was that the case? Our industrial goods were sold to Venezuela and Ecuador. There was always food trade in the Andean Pact. Why did we abandon the Andean Pact? To prioritize a free trade agreement with the United States that hurts us.“
President Gustavo Petro
Why the Trump-Blair Gaza plan is unlawful
At the International Court of Justice advisory opinion case last year, I argued for the Arab League, based on my academic research, that the Palestinian people had a legal entitlement to be free of the Israeli occupation without preconditions, and simply because of their right to self-rule – not because they were being treated abusively.
In its landmark ruling, the court agreed. This was a conclusion about the right to self-determination, pure and simple, in and of itself. It would, therefore, apply equally to any form of foreign administration, however ostensibly “humanitarian” and time-limited. Replacing an abusive trustee with another form of trusteeship is not self-determination, and would be illegal.

The Light of Day Exposes The Crime.
At approximately 10:00 PM EEST on October 1st, the IOF launched their assault on the Global Sumud Flotilla.
The world bore witness as unarmed civilians carrying humanitarian aid were subjected to intimidation and interception in the final hours of their peaceful mission to Gaza.
As the sun rises, the actions taken under the cover of darkness could not be more clear: they are the desperate maneuvers of an oppressor.
Our spirits are not broken and our resolve is only strengthened.
We will no longer allow these actions to continue with impunity. We will hold the line.

All Gaza flotilla boats intercepted except one, says Israel
Israel’s Foreign Ministry has announced none of the Global Sumud Flotilla boats has “succeeded in its attempt to enter an active combat zone or breach the lawful naval blockade”.
“All the passengers are safe and in good health. They are making their way safely to Israel from where they will be deported to Europe,” the ministry said.
However, it noted, one vessel remains sailing and “if it approaches its attempt to enter an active combat zone and breach the blockade will also be prevented”.
