Protesters Gather Again Near Border with Gaza to Demand End to War
Several hundreds of Israeli protestors gathered near the border with Gaza on Friday, May 23, calling for an end to the deadly war and ethnic cleansing. “Only people can stop the criminal madness of the far-right government. We need to do everything to stop the massacre and the Trump’s imperialist eviction plan to expel Palestinians from their lands,” said Hadash MK Ofer Cassif to journalists.
Protesters chanted for peace and justice for both Israelis and Palestinians and held banners in Hebrew, Arabic and English, reading “Palestinian Lives Matter,” “No in My Name,” “End the War for All Our Sakes,” and “Refuse.” They held, also, pictures of murdered Gaza children.

The children – the eldest aged 12 and the youngest just six months – were severely burned in the bombing.
Shortly before the strike, Najjar had left for work with her husband, Hamdi al-Najjar, who then returned home.
Not long after, an Israeli bombardment struck their house in the Qizan al-Najjar area in southern Khan Younis, killing nine of their 10 children and wounding the 10th.

What can the Joint List teach us about building Palestinian political power?
Yet Israel’s political chaos between 2019 and 2022, marked by five consecutive elections and an electorate divided almost evenly between pro- and anti-Netanyahu camps, gave the Joint List an unexpected second life. Reconstituted ahead of the September 2019 vote, it immediately regained its 13 seats. Then, in March 2020, it achieved a historic milestone, becoming Israel’s third-largest party with 15 seats — the highest ever for Palestinian representation. Turnout rebounded, while support for Zionist parties among Palestinian voters collapsed from 28 percent to just 12 percent.
Former Israeli Air Force chief Nimrod Sheffer joins Golan’s Democrats party
“I am joining The Democrats today because it is a party with a backbone and public courage. The party that is leading the most determined struggle against the government and offers a path and real hope for Israel,” Sheffer said in a video announcement.
“Yesterday I heard the prime minister — a corrupt, failed man, who brought upon Israel the worst disaster in its history — declare that he does not accept the High Court of Justice ruling,” he said, referring to the decision that found Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s firing of Shin Bet chief Ronen Bar to have been “unlawful” and that barred the premier from involvement in selecting Bar’s successor.
Yair Golan blamed by Israeli ministers for Washington terror attack
In the wake of the deadly shooting attack in Washington, DC, Israeli Heritage Minister Amihai Eliyahu charged Democrats Party leader Yair Golan that their „blood is on your hands.“
Golan earlier stirred controversy for slamming the current government as one which „kills babies as a hobby,“ later clarifying that his criticism was aimed at the government, not the Israeli military.
