Thanks to Unbound, the built-in DNS resolver, which has been enabled by default since pfSense version 2.3, makes configuring DNS over TLS a very simple task with pfSense.

By default, your home network likely relies on a DNS server provided by your internet provider. However, these servers aren’t always the fastest and, in some cases, may even allow your ISP to maliciously track your online behavior. To that end, if internet speed and privacy matter a lot, you should perhaps consider changing your DNS server.
The best way to change your DNS server is at the router level, which will affect every single device connected to it.
Here we suggest a list of trusted DNS providers.

While the DNS has been refined and extended since it was standardized in 1983, its privacy properties have not. As designed, DNS information is sent unencrypted across the Internet, and thus is viewable by anyone along the path, resulting in lack of privacy.
Perhaps the biggest risk is that it’s so easy to forget DNS exists…! It’s hard to know or care about something you never see.
According to the UN World Health Organization (WHO) at least 57 children have reportedly died from the effects of malnutrition, according to the local health authorities. The number is likely an underestimate and is expected to increase if the aid blockade continues.
In their latest report, respected and UN-partnered food insecurity experts warned that nearly 71 000 children under the age of five are expected to be acutely malnourished over the next 11 months unless Gazans can access sufficient food and healthcare support.

Flour and other aid started reaching some of Gaza‘s most vulnerable areas on Thursday after Israel let some trucks through, but nowhere near enough to make up for shortages caused by an 11-week blockade, Palestinian officials said.
Many other trucks were still at the border, and people were still waiting to receive food, amid fears that desperate crowds would try to loot the vehicles when they arrived, the Palestinian Red Crescent warned.
Palestinians in Gaza received long-awaited aid trucks into the enclave, but UN officials say the amount allowed through by Israel is far from enough.

GAZA – A handful of bakeries in south and central Gaza, supported by the World Food Programme (WFP), have resumed bread production after dozens of trucks were finally able to collect cargo from the Kerem Shalom border crossing and deliver it overnight.
These bakeries are now operational distributing bread via hot meal kitchens. However, after nearly 80 days of a total blockade of humanitarian assistance, families still face a high risk of famine and far more aid is needed across all of Gaza.
According to the sources, allowing Hamas to „retain a degree of political power would make it more likely to accept disarming,“ and the objective of the talks is to transform Hamas into a „purely political entity that can still play some role in future Palestinian governance.“
Reports have also indicated that there have been growing strains between Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and French President Emmanuel Macron over France‘s attempts to get more countries to recognize a Palestinian state.
Sources involved in the discussions told Bloomberg that according to the plan, Hamas would still maintain some political power in Gaza.
According to the report, the Saudis have presented the proposal to Hamas, although its unclear if French officials have contacted the group.
The Palestine Red Crescent Society (PRCS) yesterday welcomed a delegation from the British government at its headquarters in Al-Bireh. The visit aimed to assess PRCS’s humanitarian response in both the West Bank and the Gaza Strip.
The delegation was led by the UK Minister for Development, Baroness Jenny Chapman, accompanied by her aide and the British Consul General in Jerusalem, Ms. Helen Winterton.
„I can prove that nobody has received (aid). No civilian has received anything yet. In fact, say most of these trucks are still in Karem Shalom at the border, inspected, but not into Gaza,“ Younis Al-Khatib, President of the Palestine Red Crescent Society, told reporters.
„In the last couple of days we lost 29 children,“ Palestinian Health Minister Majed Abu Ramadan told reporters, describing them as „starvation-related deaths“. He later clarified that the total included elderly people as well as children.
