Demands Met on 73rd Day as Three End Strike

(January 14, 2026)

With this victory it has never been clearer that Elbit’s days in Britain are numbered.

In addition to this key demand being met, we want to take this opportunity to celebrate the various victories achieved across the duration of the hunger strike:

– In the past few weeks alone, hundreds of people have signed up to take action against the genocidal military-industrial complex, more than the amount of people who took action with Palestine Action over its 5 year campaign. During that 5 year campaign, 4 Israeli weapons factories were shut down. Elbit Systems is living on stolen time – we will see it shut down for good, not because of the government, but because of the people.

– Heba Muraisi’s transfer to HMP Bronzefield has been accepted by HMP New Hall, where she is currently held in intentional isolation from her family and friends.

– T. Hoxha has been offered a meeting with the head of JEXU (Joint Extremism Unit) at her prison, the very same organisation that orchestrates the prisoners’ treatment as ‘terrorists’.

– Despite the cruel and constant medical neglect of the hunger strikers; including not logging food refusal, refusal of ambulances in life threatening emergencies, and degrading treatment in hospital; the national heads of prison healthcare have met with us at the behest of the Ministry of Justice.

– During the hunger strike, some of the prisoners started receiving bulk packages of witheld mail, and in one case received an apology from prison staff for a letter that was delayed by 6 months. Books on topics of Gaza and feminism have also been given after months of waiting.

– In pursuit of a fair trial, the hunger strikers demanded disclosure of export licenses for the last 5 years from Elbit Systems. After repeated requests, this information was disclosed to an independent researcher by the Department of Trade during the hunger strike.

UN experts urge UK to protect lives and rights of pro-Palestinian detainees on hunger strike

The experts have also expressed serious concern as to the overbreadth of the definition of terrorism under UK law, the proscription of Palestine Action under the Terrorism Act 2000, and the subsequent mass arrests and criminal charges, including terrorism-related offenses, brought against individuals for alleged support for Palestine Action.

“These hunger strikes must be understood within the broader context of restrictions on pro-Palestinian activism in the UK,” the experts said, noting that the detainees are held in connection with protest-related activity.

They urged the United Kingdom to immediately guarantee appropriate healthcare for all hunger strikers, and engage in meaningful dialogue and action to address not only the claims of the protestors, but also underlying rights violations, and an end to the repression of Palestine activism.

“Preventable deaths in custody are never acceptable. The State bears full responsibility for the lives and wellbeing of those it detains,” the experts said. “Urgent action is required now.”

The experts stand ready to engage constructively with the UK Government and will continue to monitor the situation closely.

– Gina Romero, the Special Rapporteur on the rights to freedom of peaceful assembly and of association

– Tlaleng Mofokeng, the Special Rapporteur on the right of everyone to the enjoyment of the highest attainable standard of physical and mental health

– Cecilia M. Bailliet, the Independent Expert on human rights and international solidarity

– George Katrougalos, the Independent expert on the promotion of a democratic and equitable international order

– Ben Saul, the Special Rapporteur on the promotion and protection of human rights and fundamental freedoms while countering terrorism

– Irene Khan, the Special Rapporteur on the promotion and protection of the right to freedom of opinion and expression

– Francesca Albanese, the Special Rapporteur on the situation of human rights in the Palestinian territory occupied since 1967

Four hunger strikers continue as two pause after 49 days on hunger strike amidst legal preceding against Lammy

A spokesperson for Prisoners for Palestine said:

“The remaining four will continue to refuse food on the basis of the five demands, as well as specifying their demands to include the end of all non association orders between prisoners; Heba’s transfer back to HMP Bronzefield; and the same access to all courses and activities as sentenced prisoners. Non association orders are used to further isolate prisoners from each other despite being in the same prison; just as Heba has been moved across the country, away from her family and friends in London. Due to the extended period of time on remand, well over the usual six month legal limit, it is only fair that the prisoners are able to access the same activities as everyone else”

More than 50 MPs and Peers have joined me in urging David Lammy to immediately meet with the lawyers of those on hunger strike. The government needs to wake up, take responsibility, and show some humanity before it is too late.

Second Palestine Action Prisoner Hospitalised

(November 28, 2025)

Hoxha is one of the ‘Filton 24’ – 24 people currently held on remand in connection with an action at an Elbit Systems factory in Filton, Gloucestershire, in August 2024. She has been imprisoned without trial since November 2024.

This is Hoxha’s second hunger strike, after previously refusing food starting in August this year. She told Novara Media in September that she was being “punished retrospectively” for the proscription of Palestine Action under UK terror law.

Hoxha was moved to HMP Peterborough from HMP Bronzefield on the day that MPs decided to ban Palestine Action under the Terrorism Act, and said that her treatment had worsened after the proscription. The English Literature graduate described being “called a terrorist” and “told that I’m part of a terrorist group” by prison staff, along with having her mail withheld and her job in the prison library taken away.

Statement from Jony Cink

My whiteness and class status protect me from the worst of the British prison system. I often think of Palestinian prisoners in zionist torture dungeons, of my comrades punished for their faith, with imprints of fascist tendencies, that mature in British prisons, on their skin. We stand united by our desire for freedom. Shared, collective freedom, One that can only be achieved through relentless struggle. One that demands nothing short of justice.

It is with these principles in mind that I join a collective, open-ended hunger strike demanding cessation of all operations by Elbit Systems UK; immediate unconditional bail for all Prisoners for Palestine imprisoned before trial; right to a fair trial which can’t be conducted without the disclosure of all foreign and political interference in our cases; complete end to the use of terrorism legislation against those acting to stop a genocide; and an immediate end to censorship of all communication to and from prisons.

Statement from Teuta Hoxha

I join my dear comrades in the hunger strike, returning to this position with more patience and determination than previous. You need energy to fight your case. Prison tried to dissuade me last time. I remind them this is a witch hunt, not a fair fight, and that behind the arrests of dissenting voices under counterterrorism powers, holding us on remand without trial for nearly two years and targeting protesters who condemn Palestinian suffering, is the palpably desperate attempt to force us all under the imperial boot of submission. But not even these threats and abuse of powers can undo the awakening we’ve had and the deep-rooted solidarity with our Palestinian brothers and sisters. Labelling us as terrorists only adds salt to the moral injury forced upon us all by Britain’s complicity in the ongoing genocide in Palestine.

Palestine Action prisoner absconds while sixth detainee joins hunger strike

A prisoner held on remand in the UK for alleged offences relating to Palestine Action activities has failed to return after being temporarily released from a south London Prison.

Sean Middleborough, 32, who was being held on remand at HMP Wandsworth, failed to return after being granted bail to attend his brother’s wedding. (…)
Many have been held for over a year on remand – exceeding the legal six month pre-trial custody time limit.
(…)

On Monday, Kamran Ahmed, 27, became the sixth prisoner to join the open-ended hunger strike.

He joins T Hoxha, Jon Cink, Heba Muraisi, Qesser Zurah and Amu Gibb in the mass food refusal after Home Secretary Shabana Mahmood failed to respond to a letter demanding immediate bail and the de-proscription of Palestine Action.

Medics demand urgent help for alleged Palestine activist on prison hunger strike

“Ms Hoxha has not, as far as we are aware, received the necessary daily clinical monitoring required for patients refusing food and is at risk of sudden electrolyte disturbance, hypoglycaemia and cardiac arrest,” the letter said.

“After speaking with family, our understanding is that Ms Hoxha had low blood sugar, at around 2.7, for significant periods of time yesterday. This constitutes a medical emergency.

“Given that Ms Hoxha’s hunger strike is now at a critical stage, we must therefore insist that NHS England exercises its commissioning oversight.”

Filton 24 hunger striker tells the Canary government is monitoring her under counter extremism

Calling for these rights to be reinstated, T has been on hunger strike since 11 August but disturbingly says:

I was told by officers that being on hunger strike is not worth it because the prison doesn’t care what happens to you. This is something I believe to be true, as it took eight days before a nurse came to see me.

This delay meant T was left without essential medical supervision during that critical period. When finally examined by a doctor, her symptoms such as weakness, tingling in her limbs, and a rash were noted, but neither the prison nor the medical staff have made any effort to protect her from potential long-term health damage. Instead, she has repeatedly been pressured to sign a waiver that would release them from any responsibility if her condition worsens or if anything happens to her. T continues refusing to sign this form.

Family of Palestine Action prisoner on hunger strike say her health is deteriorating

The 29-year-old prisoner, named “T Hoxha”, is one of the „Filton 24“ – activists from the now-proscribed direct action group Palestine Action who were arrested on terrorism charges.

Those charges were in connection with an action in August 2024, when six activists drove a modified van into the research and development hub of UK-based Israeli arms company, Elbit Systems, in Filton, Bristol.

Hoxha has been on remand since November 2024, awaiting her trial which will start in April 2026.

She launched her hunger strike at HMP Peterborough 22 days ago over the prison’s suspension of her recreational activities, her removal from her job at the prison library, and the withholding of her mail.
