US, Israeli assets ‘legitimate targets’ after attack on Beirut: Qalibaf
In a forceful post on his X account on Sunday, Qalibaf issued a stark warning to the US and Israel, saying their military bases and assets across the region have become legitimate targets after the Israeli regime bombed Beirut‘s southern suburbs.
He said the United States has not been committed to the April ceasefire agreement with Iran and is not serious about dialogue.
„They are neither committed to a ceasefire nor believe in dialogue,“ Qalibaf wrote.
By enforcing a naval blockade and breaching agreements related to Lebanon, he emphasized, they have made it clear that the only language they understand is that of power.

Irael bombardiert Beirut
Der Vergeltungsangriff ist von Netanjahu nicht nur einkalkuliert, sondern bewusst herausgefordert worden. Der Konflikt zeigt wieder, dass Israel nicht vertragsfähig ist, eben wie die USA.
What‘s next for the War Powers Resolution on Iran? PolitiFact explains
If the Senate were to secure those 60 votes and pass the war powers resolution, the chambers would have to work out differences in the text of the bill between the two chambers, which might require additional votes.
If both chambers pass identical versions of a war powers resolution, the measure would still require the president‘s signature to take effect — something that seems unlikely based on Trump‘s commitment to the war so far.
If Trump vetoes it, the House and Senate could override the veto only with two-thirds votes in each chamber, which is well above the support demonstrated so far. No war powers resolution has ever overcome a veto.

At least five civilians were killed in a wedding party in Gaza City after Israeli forces bombed tents at the location of the celebration.

Trump says he and Netanyahu on same page despite disagreements
US President Donald Trump said he and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu are on the same page as the conflict in Iran stretches into its 100th day, despite some disagreements between the leaders over Israel’s military offensive in Lebanon.
“We get along very well,” Trump said on NBC’s “Meet the Press,” in a prerecorded interview that aired Sunday morning.
“We’ve been great comrades. We did a very, very big number on a certain country that was nothing but trouble for 47 years. I disagree with him on a couple of things,” Trump said.
Iran says „contradictory“ positions of US is main issue in negotiations
Speaking with CNN’s Senior International correspondent Frederik Pleitgen in Tehran Sunday, Baghaei said the exchange of messages continued through Pakistani mediators.
“The main problem of negotiating with this administration is that you have to face so many changing positions, moving the goal posts, different statements, contradictory remarks by different officials, so it makes the whole process very cumbersome,” Baghaei said.
There were quite a number of sticking points, he said, “but the main issue is that the Americans must understand that they have to recognize Iran’s rights,” including its right to peaceful nuclear enrichment under the international non-proliferation treaty.
Iran says US ‘changing, contradictory’ positions keep talks stalled
In an exclusive interview with CNN Senior International Correspondent Frederik Pleitgen in Tehran on Sunday, Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baghaei acknowledged that messages continue to pass between Tehran and Washington via Pakistani intermediaries.
“The main problem of negotiating with this administration is that you have to face so many changing positions, moving the goal posts, different statements, contradictory remarks by different officials, so it makes the whole process very cumbersome,” he said.

Trump says deal with Iran is ‚very close‘
US President Donald Trump has told NBC News that a deal with Iran is „very close“.
“We have a couple of points. They don’t even seem like big points,” Trump said. “They’ve conceded the fact that they will not have nuclear weapons. We had a clause in there that [they] will not develop nuclear weapons. And everybody was very happy with it except me.”

The two sides are “very close” to signing a pact, Trump said, but he is pushing for Iran to go further in abandoning its nuclear ambitions.
“We have a couple of points. They don’t even seem like big points,” he said. “They’ve conceded the fact that they will not have nuclear weapons. We had a clause in there that [they] will not develop nuclear weapons. And everybody was very happy with it except me.”
Trump said he wanted an additional provision to ensure Iran can’t execute an end run around a deal.
“And I said, ‘Well, what happens if they, not develop, but they go out and purchase, they acquire? I want to put the word, ‘if they buy, purchase or acquire,’” he said. “You know, you’ve got to have that in there, too, because that’s not developing. So, they don’t have the right to develop or purchase, acquire or buy.”
