Israel’s “voluntary emigration” policy from the Gaza Strip constitutes the forced transfer of the civilian population – a war crime and crime against humanity

Israel-based human rights organizations – Gisha, Adalah, The Association for Civil Rights in Israel, and HaMoked: Center for the Defence of the Individual – addressed Israel’s Defense Minister Israel Katz, Attorney General Gali Baharav-Miara, and Military Advocate General Yifat Tomer-Yerushalmi, demanding the immediate cancellation of the Security Cabinet decision from March 23, 2025, concerning “preparation for the possibility of voluntary departure of Palestinians in the Gaza Strip to third countries.” Following this decision, a “Voluntary Emigration Administration” was established within the Defense Ministry. The organizations demand that Israeli authorities not interfere with the freedom of movement of Gaza residents and refrain from imposing restrictions on their right to return to the Strip at any time and without conditions. The letter was written by Attorney Suhad Bishara of Adalah and Attorney Osnat Cohen-Lifshitz of Gisha.

The letter noted that statements by Defense Minister Israel Katz and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu reveal an intention to promote and implement transfer from the Gaza Strip under the guise of “voluntary emigration.” It was recently reported that Israel is using intelligence information to send messages to Gaza residents, calling on them to contact a representative to coordinate their departure.

Netanjahus Todesfalle

Gleichzeitig genehmigt Merz weiter Waffenlieferungen an Israel. Ob Israel damit Kriegsverbrechen begeht oder nicht, ist ihm offensichtlich egal.

Far-Right Govt Crack Down on Freedom of Press and Coverage of War Damage in Israel

The move, which targets major international outlets such as Al Jazeera, CNN, France 24 and The New York Times, empowers the police, the Government Press Office (GPO), and the military censor to enforce stricter controls on foreign reporting of war-related damage inside Israel. According to the directive, enforcement will apply regardless of the media outlet for which the footage is being filmed. Police documented themselves obstructing camera views – images which were later aired, suggesting coordination between field officers and intelligence units. The Shin Bet (Israel Security Agency) has since become involved in enforcement.

The crackdown follows incidents on Tuesday in Beer Sheva, Holon, and Ramat Gan, where police arrived at rocket impact sites, confiscated camera equipment, and confronted journalists broadcasting live footage that appeared on Al Jazeera screens globally.

The enforcement has already reached Haifa. Early Tuesday morning, police knocked on the door of a hotel room overlooking the city’s bay area, where two foreign photographers were staying, and confiscated their equipment.
According to police, the action followed a tip that individuals intended to record from a balcony facing Haifa Port.

‘The Hunger Games’: Inside Israel’s aid death traps for starving Gazans

The day after the massacre on Al-Rashid Street that claimed Hatem Shaldan’s life, even larger crowds gathered in the same spot, including 17-year-old Muhammad Abu Sharia, who arrived with four relatives. The few aid trucks that arrived that week gave a sliver of hope to starving families.

Abu Sharia lives with his family of nine in their partially destroyed home in southern Gaza City, the only son among six sisters. “My family didn’t want me to go at first,” he said. “But we’ve been starving for two months.”

At 10 p.m., he made his way to Al-Rashid Street, where crowds had gathered on the sand near the shore, waiting for aid trucks. People shared warnings in hushed voices: “Stay behind the trucks. Don’t run in front — you might get crushed.”

Abu Sharia was shocked by what he saw. “Elderly people, women, children, all just waiting for a chance at flour.” Then, without warning, artillery shells began falling around them.

Panic broke out. Some fled. Others, like Abu Sharia, sprinted toward the trucks. “People were being killed and wounded, but no one stopped. Everyone just kept running for the flour.”

He managed to grab a bag lying beside a dead body, but only made it a few meters before a gang of four men with knives surrounded him and threatened to kill him if he didn’t hand it over. He let it go.

Still hoping to reach another truck, he waited hours longer. Then he saw people shouting, “More aid has arrived!” The trucks rolled in, barely slowing down as crowds swarmed them. “I saw a man fall under one [truck] and get his head crushed.” With ambulances too far away to approach for fear of Israeli airstrikes, the wounded and dead were dragged away by donkey carts and tuk-tuks.

Israel-Iran war stretches into a second week without diplomatic breakthrough

Hours of talks aimed at de-escalating fighting between Israel and Iran failed to produce a diplomatic breakthrough as the war entered its second week with a fresh round of strikes between the two adversaries.

European ministers and Iran’s top diplomat met for four hours Friday in Geneva, as President Donald Trump continued to weigh U.S. military involvement and worries rose over potential strikes on nuclear reactors.

Iran, Israel launch new attacks after Tehran rules out nuclear talks

Israel began attacking Iran on June 13, saying its longtime enemy was on the verge of developing nuclear weapons. Iran, which says its nuclear programme is only for peaceful purposes, retaliated with missile and drone strikes on Israel.
Israel is widely assumed to possess nuclear weapons. It neither confirms nor denies this.
