ICC receives backing from 78 nations following US sanctions over Israel investigation
Seventy-eight nations have issued a joint statement reaffirming their support for the International Criminal Court (ICC) after the Trump administration imposed sanctions against the court and its officials.
The US government imposed the sanctions after the ICC issued an arrest warrant last year for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu over alleged war crimes in Gaza. The US and Israel are not members of the court and do not recognise its authority.
South Korea’s ruling party backs impeachment as president refuses to step down over martial law
The People Power Party (PPP) had initially refused to back impeachment, hoping instead Yoon would resign from office. But its leadership said attempts to persuade him had made no progress.
“We tried to find a better way than impeachment, but that other way is invalid,” party leader Han Dong-hoon said. “Suspending the president from his duties through impeachment is the only way for now, to defend democracy and the republic.”
I was suspended from Israel’s Knesset for highlighting the tyranny of Netanyahu. Help us to oppose him
(November 29, 2024)
I am not alone in opposing his tyranny. The consistent political opposition inside Israel itself, made up of democratic Jews and Arab citizens, finds the notion of democracy in Israel under Netanyahu absurd too. Democracy in Israel never really existed, owing to the state of Israel’s definition as an ethnic concept, antithetical to political egalitarianism.
A state that under its basic laws declares one group politically superior to the other cannot be regarded as a democracy, but as an ethnocracy. Since its formation, Israel has been pursuing discriminatory policies towards its own Palestinian citizens in all spheres of life – housing, employment, welfare and education. Even the supposed Israeli bill of rights, the Basic Law: Human Dignity and Liberty, doesn’t dare to mention the right to equality.
Former Democratic Rep. Tulsi Gabbard is Trump‘s pick for director of national intelligence
(November 13, 2024)
„Trump ended up with some neocons around him who were trying to undermine his objectives so they could feed their goals of continuing to keep us in a perpetual state of war,“ Gabbard said, discussing his first administration. „This administration has us facing multiple wars on multiple fronts and regions around the world and closer to the brink of nuclear war than we ever have been before,“ Gabbard said when she endorsed Trump during a campaign event in Michigan.
„This is one of the main reasons why I‘m committed to doing all that I can to send President Trump back to the White House, where he can, once again, serve us as our commander in chief.“
Trump picks Robert F. Kennedy Jr. to be his Department of Health and Human Services secretary
President-elect Donald Trump has picked Robert F. Kennedy Jr. to be his next secretary of the Department of Health and Human Services, a choice that would add to Trump’s list of provocative picks whose confirmation processes will test the loyalty of Senate Republicans.
Trump on Thursday announced the selection, confirming CNN’s earlier reporting, saying he was thrilled to share the pick.
“Hopeless, Starving, and Besieged”: Israel’s Forced Displacement of Palestinians in Gaza
To All Governments
– Publicly condemn Israel’s forced displacement of the civilian population in Gaza as a war crime and crime against humanity, as well as other violations of international humanitarian law, international human rights law, and international criminal law by Israeli authorities, and urge them to immediately halt those crimes and cooperate with international judicial bodies and investigative mechanisms.
– Increase public and private pressure on the Israeli government to stop violating international humanitarian law in the conduct of hostilities, to fully comply with its obligations and the binding orders and advisory opinion from the International Court of Justice, and to ensure the entry and safe distribution throughout Gaza of adequate aid and provision of basic services. Consider, in that regard, the review and possible suspension of bilateral agreements with Israel, such as the EU-Israel Association Agreement, as proposed by the governments of Spain and Ireland, and the US-Israel Free Trade Agreement.
– Suspend military assistance and arms sales to Israel so long as its forces commit violations of international humanitarian law with impunity.
– Enforce domestic legislation limiting the transfer of arms and military assistance for violations of international human rights and humanitarian law.
– Publicly support the International Criminal Court, uphold the court’s independence, and publicly condemn efforts to intimidate or interfere with its work, officials, and those cooperating with the institution.
– Urge the Government of Israel to grant access to independent, international monitors, including from the UN Special Procedures.
– Impose targeted sanctions, including travel bans and asset freezes, against Israeli officials credibly implicated in ongoing serious violations, for the purpose of ending these violations.
– Address long-standing impunity by Israeli authorities and Palestinian armed groups for serious crimes under international law, and support reparations for all victims of gross human rights abuses.
– Support the creation of a register of damages, caused by unlawful Israeli action to persons in the Occupied Palestinian Territory, for the purposes of calculating reparations.

He stated that these actions, alongside what he views as continuous aggression, warrant Israel‘s expulsion from the UN.

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim is scheduled to hold a meeting with his Lebanese counterpart Najib Mikati, and Kuwait’s Crown Prince Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, this afternoon.
According to a statement from the Prime Minister’s Office, the meeting will take place before the Extraordinary Summit of the Arab-Islamic States in the capital of Saudi Arabia.

‚Genocide must be our red line‘: Black Muslim leaders shun Harris for US president
A group of approximately 50 Black Muslim leaders have signed a statement urging Black and Muslim American voters to shun Democratic Vice President Kamala Harris in her bid for the White House and instead back candidates who support a ceasefire in Gaza and an arms embargo on Israel.
The new statement, first reported by Middle East Eye, is the latest effort from Muslim community leaders – from imams to scholars, to activists to politicians – telling voters not to choose Vice President Harris in the upcoming November election over her unwillingness to commit to policy changes that would hold Israel accountable for its ongoing war on Gaza and now Lebanon, which has killed tens of thousands of Palestinians and Lebanese people.
AMPAC Endorses Dr. Jill Stein for President
(21 October, 2024)
The American Arab and Muslim Political Action Committee (AMPAC) announced last week it has endorsed Green Party candidate Dr. Jill Stein for President of the United States. This follows closely on the Oct. 7 endorsement of the Abandon Harris campaign and is reflective of the Stein campaign’s growing support in the Arab and Muslim communities.
General Elections 2024 – For Immediate Release: AMPAC Endorses Dr. Jill Stein for President
Dearborn, Michigan, October 17, 2024: The American Arab and Muslim Political Action Committee (AMPAC) proudly announces its endorsement of Dr. Jill Stein for the 2024 presidential election.
This election cycle presents unique challenges, prompting AMPAC to reassess its traditional support for candidates from the two major parties. After extensive dialogue with both the Harris and Trump campaigns, we found no commitment to addressing the urgent concerns of our community, particularly the ongoing humanitarian crisis in Gaza, the West Bank, and Lebanon.
Abandon Harris Endorses Dr. Jill Stein for President
(21 October, 2024)
The Abandon Harris campaign, which is “dedicated to ensuring that the American people, especially the Muslim-American community, recognize the responsibility we share in standing up against oppression and using all our power to stop genocide wherever it may arise,” announced today it is endorsing the Green Party’s Dr. Jill Stein for president, along with running mate Dr. Butch Ware.
“We are not choosing between a greater evil and a lesser evil,” the group wrote in a statement. “We are confronting two destructive forces: one currently overseeing a genocide and another equally committed to continuing it. Both are determined to see it through. We call on Muslim-Americans and all those who stand firmly against genocide to vote for the Green Party in 2024.”
Harris Vows to Create Bipartisan Advisory Council as DNC Runs Ad Attacking Jill Stein
In other campaign news, the Democratic National Committee has released an ad attacking Green Party presidential nominee Jill Stein, claiming a vote for Stein is a vote for Trump. Democrats are planning to run the ad in Wisconsin, Pennsylvania and Michigan. In August, the Council on American-Islamic Relations, CAIR, published a survey that showed Stein is leading Harris among Muslim voters in Arizona, Michigan and Wisconsin. Stein has criticized Harris for refusing to cut off arms sales to Israel.
Jill Stein: How and Why I Will Stop Kamala Harris Winning the White House
(September 30, 2024)
„The Democrats cannot win without the support of the Muslim American community. And that community has left the station and is not coming back unless the Democrats decide that it‘s more important to them to win the election than it is to conduct the genocide,“ Stein said in an interview with Newsweek.
„So they have to do a 180 on the genocide and they don‘t appear willing to do that. They could win those votes back, but it doesn‘t look like that‘s on the cards. So it looks like they are sacrificing several swing states.“ Israel denies it is conducting genocide.

Democrats attack Green Party’s Jill Stein amid spoiler fears
(October 11, 2024)
“The Kamala Harris campaign is looking for a scapegoat,” Stein said Thursday in an interview, about the Harris campaign’s concern about her candidacy. “They could change their policy right now. The problem is they would rather lose the election than end the genocide.”
Stein is one of three independent candidates who have been registering at least 1 percent in recent public polls, along with the left-leaning scholar Cornel West, who is running on a “truth, justice and love” platform, and libertarian candidate Chase Oliver.
LIVE: Donald Trump Rally in Butler, PA | FOX 4
Former president Donald Trump returns Butler, Pennsylvania to hold a rally for the first time since an attempted assassination. The gunman, Thomas Crooks, was shot and killed by law enforcement.
Elon Musk Leaps to Trump’s Side in Rally Appearance
The crowd seemed to know Mr. Musk, who drew cheers as he was introduced by the former president. Mr. Trump lavished praise on Mr. Musk, the world’s richest man, for building an American car company and saving “free speech” with X.
„President Trump must win to preserve the Constitution,” Mr. Musk said, after bounding to the mic with his hands in the air. “He must win to preserve democracy in America.”
At one point, urging people to vote, he claimed, darkly: “If they don’t, this will be the last election. That’s my prediction.”
Statement from President Joe Biden on the Death of Hassan Nasrallah
Hassan Nasrallah and the terrorist group he led, Hezbollah, were responsible for killing hundreds of Americans over a four-decade reign of terror. His death from an Israeli airstrike is a measure of justice for his many victims, including thousands of Americans, Israelis, and Lebanese civilians.
The strike that killed Nasrallah took place in the broader context of the conflict that began with Hamas’s massacre on October 7, 2023. Nasrallah, the next day, made the fateful decision to join hands with Hamas and open what he called a “northern front” against Israel.
The United States fully supports Israel’s right to defend itself against Hezbollah, Hamas, the Houthis, and any other Iranian-supported terrorist groups. Just yesterday, I directed my Secretary of Defense to further enhance the defense posture of U.S. military forces in the Middle East region to deter aggression and reduce the risk of a broader regional war.
President Biden says Nasrallah killing is ‘justice’ for victims of Hezbollah
President Biden called the killing of Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah “a measure of justice” for his victims – and said that the US “fully supports” Israel’s move to defend itself against the Iran-backed terror group.
“Hassan Nasrallah and the terrorist group he led, Hezbollah, were responsible for killing hundreds of Americans over a four-decade reign of terror,” Biden, 81, said in a statement released by the White House Saturday afternoon.

How Jill Stein‘s Muslim Surge Could Sink Kamala Harris
(September 21, 2024)
Recent polls show Stein ahead of Harris among Muslim voters in several battleground states, including Arizona, Michigan and Wisconsin, giving her Green Party a potentially pivotal role in swinging the election away from Harris in favor of former President Donald Trump.
„We‘re grateful for the strong support of Muslim voters who share with us the determination to end genocide in Gaza, and the injustice faced by our Muslim friends,“ Stein told Newsweek in a statement. „We urge all people of conscience to resist the propaganda telling you to hold your nose and vote for genocide.

American Muslim 2024 Election Task Force Calls on Muslim Voters to Turn Out, Support Candidates Who Back Permanent Ceasefire, Arms Embargo, and Other Just Policies
Our message for the American Muslim community
Disagree respectfully: we understand that voting is a personal choice, and our perspectives and personal analysis can lead us all in different directions. Thus, there may not be a definitively right or wrong answer to the question of how American Muslims should vote in 2024. We expect disagreements to occur.
Although healthy debate is valuable, our community members should not disparage each other or assume the worst of each other’s intentions—especially of leaders and groups that have a history of doing good work and acting in good faith.
We must also reject those voices on either side of the 2024 debate who attempt to turn political and strategic disagreement about how to vote into a racial or religious conflict that divides our community.

A coalition of Muslim-American groups announced Friday that it will not endorse Democratic candidate Kamala Harris in the November presidential election.

France voted in favour of the draft resolution submitted by Palestine
STATEMENT BY MR NICOLAS DE RIVIERE,
PERMANENT REPRESENTATIVE OF FRANCE TO THE UNITED NATIONS
TO THE UNITED NATIONS GENERAL ASSEMBLY
(TRANSLATED FROM FRENCH)
New York, September 18, 2024
Madam President,
France is committed to the respect of international law. We reaffirm our full support of the International Court of Justice. As the Court indicated in its advisory opinion of July 2024, the settlements in the Palestinian Territories, including East Jerusalem, constitute a violation of international law.
States have therefore the obligation not to recognise the situation resulting from the illegal presence of the State of Israel in the Occupied Palestinian Territories. France will not recognise the illegal annexation of these territories.
We will ensure compliance with Security Council Resolution 2334, which aims to draw a distinction between the internationally recognised territory of Israel and the territories occupied since 1967.
In that spirit, France voted in favour of the draft resolution submitted by Palestine. We would have preferred it to stick completely to the International Court of Justice’s advisory opinion, but we commend the efforts undertaken to improve the initial draft.
France calls on this Assembly to condemn the flagrant violation of international law constituted by the terrorist attacks committed on 7 October 2023. We reiterate our solidarity with the Israeli people and reaffirm our unwavering commitment to Israel’s security.
The continuation of Israeli settlements is a major obstacle to the two-state solution. This is the only way to guarantee a just and lasting peace. It is the only way to guarantee Israel’s long-term security. This entails the establishment of a Palestinian state, as well as a resumption of the peace negotiations.

Dr. Cornel West Leads 3rd Party Candidates in Suffolk University/USA Today Poll Showing Strong Second-Choice Support
Dr. Melina Abdullah, vice presidential candidate and co-founder of Black Lives Matter Grassroots, emphasized the importance of this moment. “Dr. West’s candidacy represents a powerful shift toward real justice. Voters are waking up to the fact that there’s more than just the binary choice of Democrat and Republican. We’re building a movement that stands for the people, and this poll shows that more and more voters are aligning with that vision.”
The West/Abdullah campaign has the signatures and minor party nominations it needs to get on the ballot in 18 states. Türkiye urges UN states to support Palestine‘s resolution in ‚pursuit of justice‘
„As a co-sponsor of resolution, introduced by Palestine, and a committed advocate for the International Court of Justice (ICJ) proceedings, Türkiye regards this session as both timely and essential,“ said Turkish envoy to the U.N. „The resolution is not merely procedural; it is emblematic of a broader movement within the international community to rectify long-standing injustices,“ he said about the significance of the resolution.

Ukraine strikes Moscow in biggest drone attack to date
Moscow and Kyiv have both sought to buy and develop new drones, deploy them in innovative ways, and seek new ways to destroy them – from using shotguns to advanced electronic jamming systems.
Both sides have turned cheap commercial drones into deadly weapons while ramping up their own production and assembly to attack targets including tanks and energy infrastructure such as refineries and airfields.
‘Israelis are frustrated, but do they want to stop the war? Not exactly’
But now Netanyahu’s support is starting to bounce back, right?
Yes, we’re seeing trust in the government recover pretty consistently across all surveys — starting in April [when Israel assassinated an Iranian Quds Force commander in Damascus, and Iran responded with a missile attack]. A series of polls in recent weeks have shown that Likud would win the most votes if elections were held today, and Netanyahu himself is once again coming out on top in head-to-head surveys against opposition leader Benny Gantz. He’s not in a stellar position, but he is more or less where he was before the war.
This recovery is linked to the new threats from Iran and Hezbollah following Israel’s assassinations in Beirut and Tehran.

Israel Deploys Expansive Facial Recognition Program in Gaza
(March 27, 2024)
The expansive and experimental effort is being used to conduct mass surveillance there, collecting and cataloging the faces of Palestinians without their knowledge or consent, according to Israeli intelligence officers, military officials and soldiers.
The technology was initially used in Gaza to search for Israelis who were taken hostage by Hamas during the Oct. 7 cross-border raids, the intelligence officials said.
Firm helping Israel spy on Gaza includes genocide advocate
(28.03.2024)
There is little complaint from western politicians. Corsight’s complicity isn’t seen as an urgent matter.
Nor, for that matter, do most of these politicians give sufficient attention to Israel’s genocidal policies in Gaza.
Unmentioned by the Times is that Giora Eiland, a retired Israeli major general, serves on the board of directors of Corsight.
When Eiland joined the board in January 2021, Igal Raichelgauz, chairman and founder of the Cortica Group, stated, “We are excited to add Giora to the company board, we believe that due to his extensive experience in the national security field, Corsight will continue growing into new markets and territories and lead the face recognition market in Israel and in the world.” Corsight is a subsidiary of Cortica, a firm focused on artificial intelligence.
Eiland is a proponent of the ethnic cleansing of the occupied territory of Gaza.
Pro-Palestinian groups file legal action against German politician over Gaza war
The charges, filed at five prosecutor offices across Germany, cite Beck‘s statements on social media, in opinion pieces and media interviews in which he expressed support for Israel‘s military operation in Gaza, calling for making humanitarian aid conditional on Hamas freeing Israeli hostages.
Pro-Palestine groups file criminal charges of hate and war crime denial against German politician
Palestine Speaks and Jewish Voice for Just Peace in the Middle East filed the charges against Volker Beck, a former member of parliament and head of the German-Israeli Society.
„This is the first step in holding public figures who publicly make genocidal statements legally accountable,“ the groups posted on Instagram.
Biden and Starmer will pay a heavy price for supporting Israel‘s war in Gaza
We can be sure of one thing. History is going to be a much harsher judge of those political leaders who justified and tolerated the ethnic cleansing now going on in Gaza.
Biden and Starmer’s refusal to call for a ceasefire and their refusal to back the ruling of the International Court of Justice (ICJ) that Israel should take steps to comply with the Genocide Convention, will produce an indelible stain on their careers.
Neither man sees the danger they are in over Gaza. But then neither did Bush or Blair when they invaded Iraq.
Democratic and Republican elites fear RFK Jr.’s growing path to victory
As noted on the Archives website: “The House of Representatives elects the President from the three (3) Presidential candidates who received the most electoral votes …”
Now, we come back to that magic number: 34.
If Kennedy were to get 34 percent of the vote, there would be a great deal of pressure on the House of Representatives to “do the right thing.”
“Impossible” yet again?
I give you Donald J. Trump being elected our 45th president in 2016 as evidence as to why such a scenario is entirely possible.
Racist Ben Gvir Warns Hadash Leader ‘Next in Line’ to Be Expelled from Knesset
Racist National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir appears to threaten Hadash MK Ayman Odeh with impeachment, tweeting out a picture of him with the message “next in line.” The photo shared by Ben Gvir shows Odeh holding the arm of Khalida Jarrar, a legislator and senior figure in the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine, as she flashes a victory sign following her release from prison in September 2021. On last December 27, Jarrar was arrested again by occupation forces.
The far-right leader’s message comes hours after members of the Knesset House Committee overwhelmingly supported a motion to expel Hadash-Ta’al party lawmaker Ofer Cassif, voting 14-2 to advance his impeachment to the Knesset plenum following two days of contentious debate. During Tuesday’s debate on Cassif’s impeachment, Hadash-Ta’al MK Ahmad Tibi warned the Communist lawmaker’s ouster would “set a precedent” allowing for the impeachment of “all the Arab MKs in the Knesset.” “This is a black day for the Knesset,” Tibi declares following the vote.

Forer announced the move after Cassif signed a petition in support of the South African case against the Jewish state and claimed that members of the government were calling for ethnic cleansing and even genocide.

Group of Jewish Democrats in US House slam Netanyahu for rejecting Palestinian state

Minister Fajon: Slovenia one of the few EU Member States in the ICJ advisory opinion proceedings against Israel
(January 11, 2024)
Slovenia‘s position on the conflict in the Middle East is clear and has been expressed many times: “We strongly condemn the violence of both Hamas in Israel and of Israel in Gaza – civilians must not be targeted. We draw attention to the serious violations of international humanitarian and human rights law in Gaza. Since 7 October 2023, 23 thousand Palestinians have been killed, 70% of them women and children. 1.9 million people have been displaced, representing almost 85 per cent of the total population. We also strongly condemn any intention to expel the Palestinian population from Gaza or the West Bank and to reduce the size of the Palestinian territory. Slovenia has consistently called for additional sanctions against Hamas and violent Israeli settlers in the West Bank, as well as for the establishment of a permanent ceasefire in Gaza, unrestricted humanitarian access and the early start of a two-state solution peace process, including international recognition of the State of Palestine, with the ultimate goal of peaceful and secure coexistence between Israelis and Palestinians,” added Minister Fajon.
Slovenia to join UN General Assembly case against Israel
(January 11, 2024)
Meanwhile, Fajon also told reporters that Slovenia was following the proceedings in the genocide case brought by South Africa with interest, but was not able to join the case at this stage.
Foreign Minister Tanja Fajon said Slovenia was one of few EU countries to have decided to actively participate in those proceedings and present its positions. The procedure was initiated by the UN General Assembly based on a December 2022 resolution, which Slovenia supported at the time.

“Israel‘s murder of more than 22,000 Palestinian civilians, the majority of whom were women and children, in Gaza for nearly three months should not go unpunished in any way,“ Keceli said.
Malaysia backs South Africa’s case at ICJ against Israel’s ‘genocidal’ acts in Gaza

Malaysia’s foreign ministry said the petition also included a request for the ICJ to indicate provisional or short-term measures ordering Israel to stop its military campaign in the besieged territory, and to ensure Israel’s compliance with its obligations under the Genocide Convention.
“The legal action against Israel before the ICJ is a timely and tangible step towards legal accountability for Israel’s atrocities in Gaza and the Occupied Palestinian Territory at large,” the ministry said in a statement on Tuesday.

100+ Global Rights Groups Urge Support for South Africa‘s Genocide Case Against Israel at ICJ
The letter was released days after South Africa filed its claim, asking the ICJ to declare that Israel has breached its obligations under the Genocide Convention, to which it is a party.
The death toll in Gaza has reached at least 22,313, with at least 57,296 people wounded and thousands feared dead under rubble.
It‘s Becoming Clear. Israel Could Cost Joe Biden Re-Election
Now, a new poll by the New York Times/ Siena College has found that nearly 75 percent of a sample of young voters aged between 18 and 29 disapprove of how the Democrat is handling the conflict. The same proportion believe Israel isn‘t doing enough to prevent civilian casualties in Gaza and 44 percent said Israel should end its military campaign even if Hamas is not defeated, to 39 percent who said it should continue.
It also found that 27 percent of young people sympathize with Israel while 47 percent sympathize with Palestinians.
Support for Israel declining among American public – poll
A Quinnipiac University poll released on Wednesday indicates that two months after Hamas‘s October 7 attack on Israel, American voters are divided on whether the United States should send more military aid to Israel, with 45 percent of respondents saying yes compared to 46 percent who are opposed.
