CAIR Sends Photos of Starving Children in Gaza to Congress in Open Letter

(July 23, 2025)

The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), the nation’s largest Muslim civil rights and advocacy organization, today announced that it has electronically delivered an open letter titled “The Endgame in Gaza Has Arrived” to every office in the U.S. House of Representatives and Senate, including more than 3,600 congressional staff members.

In the largest targeted congressional communication in CAIR’s history, the message was sent to Chiefs of Staff, Legislative Directors, Communications Directors, and staff handling policy portfolios related to international affairs, national security, defense, civil rights, and minority issues. The emailed letter included two graphic photographs of skeletal Palestinian children – one already starved to death, the other barely clinging to life.

US Congress Can Stop Genocide – Why Won’t They?

It is not just Israelis committing these horrors – *US contractors are guilty of this atrocity, too. In addition, our government pays for the bullets, bombs, military equipment, and surveillance technology – we sent more than *$17 billion to Israel in 2024. This genocide is our tax dollars at work.

Our legislators –and our president – have the power to end our complicity in this horror. They are able to pressure Israel into reversing course by introducing a bill tomorrow to end all military – and other – aid to Israel unless the blockade is lifted, humanitarian relief is allowed into Gaza, and the human rights violation and war crimes cease.

We have to ask: if the United States has the power to stop a genocide, why won’t we?

Gaza First Person: ‘The best of humankind in a place abandoned by humanity’

Sonia Silva has been working in the embattled enclave since the beginning of November 2023, just one-month after the terror attack by Hamas and other armed groups in southern Israel that sparked the brutal conflict.

She spoke to UN News about the misery people have experienced in recent days.

„…The ongoing shortages of food are making things worse. It affects the entire population, including our frontline partners, our national colleagues and all the supporting staff.

What has struck me most about Gaza is that despite the hardship, colleagues keep going, colleagues keep teasing each other, colleagues who have lost everything show the utmost generosity and solidarity.

I would like to pay tribute to all of my colleagues and our partners who are hanging on to fragments of hope for a better life but still keep essential services running.

They are the best of humankind in a place abandoned by humanity.

Amazon Union Leader Chris Smalls Boards Boat to Gaza

(July 21, 2025)

Amazon Labor Union leader Chris Smalls is on the ‚Handala‘, the 37th ship to challenge Israel’s illegal siege on Gaza. Amazon has invested billions in intelligence like the Nimbus project, used for the surveillance and targeting of Palestinians.

Chris shares that “…an injury to one is injury to all,” calling on labor unions worldwide to fulfill their responsibility: to be the shield for the working class, which includes protecting Palestinian people, and urges unions to stop their shipments of arms to Israel, fuelling their genocide in Gaza.

“We come with baby food, toys, medicine, and hope — not just for Gaza, but for the future of our children in America back at home. The world is watching.”
