Urgent Appeal: Stop the Renewed Wave of Genocidal Violence Against Palestinians in Northern Gaza Now!

For the 12th consecutive day, the Israeli military has launched a renewed wave of genocidal violence against Palestinians in northern Gaza, specifically in Jabalia, Beit Lahia, and Beit Hanoun, besieging Palestinians therein and subjecting them to intense aerial and artillery bombardment.

Israel is directly implementing theso-called “Generals’ Plan”, reportedly examined by the Israeli Prime Minister, that is aimed at emptying northern Gaza of its residents by laying a full siege, denying the entry of humanitarian aid, forcing Palestinians to leave, and unlawfully declaring whoever remains to be a military target.

Israeli NGOs warn international community it will be complicit if Israel forcibly transfers the population of Northern Gaza

(October 14, 2024)

Human rights NGOs based in Israel today called on the international community to take action now to prevent Israel from forcibly transferring hundreds of thousands of Palestinians who have remained in the Northern Gaza Strip outside of the area, including by denying entry of essential humanitarian aid and fuel. The Israeli ceasefire coalition, the groups Gisha, B’Tselem, PHR-I and Yesh Din, said that there are alarming signs that the Israeli military is beginning to quietly implement the Generals’ Plan, also referred to as the Eiland Plan, which calls for complete forcible transfer of the civilians of the northern Gaza Strip through tightening the siege on the area and starving the population.

It also included a second corridor further south that he called the Sufa Corridor. The plan has not been adopted by the IDF, but it includes elements that are coming into existence, including the Netzarim Corridor.

War on Gaza: While eyes are on Rafah, Israel is cementing control of northern Gaza

(25 March 2024)

In 1971, Ariel Sharon, the Israeli army commander of the southern region who later became prime minister, prepared a plan to divide Gaza and North Sinai into five settlement areas that prevent geographic contiguity between Palestinians in the north, centre, and south.

Israel surrounds this area from the north with settlements and checkpoints and from the south with a settlement bloc in the northern Sinai desert.

Sharon named it the „Five Fingers Plan“, and the government headed by Golda Meir fully adopted it in 1972.

A plan to liquidate northern Gaza is gaining steam

(September 17, 2024)

Although Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Yoav Gallant remain tight-lipped about the real goals of the operation, Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich and National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir, as well as other ministers on the far right, declare them openly. Here, they cite a program that the “Forum of Reserve Commanders and Fighters,” spearheaded by Maj. Gen. (res.) Giora Eiland, proposed just a few weeks ago: ordering all residents of northern Gaza to leave within a week, before imposing a full siege on the area, including shutting off all supplies of water, food, and fuel, until those who remain surrender or die of starvation.

Other prominent Israelis, in recent months, have also called on the military to carry out mass extermination in northern Gaza. “Remove the entire civilian population from the north, and whoever remains there will be lawfully sentenced as a terrorist and subjected to a process of starvation or extermination,” Prof. Uzi Rabi, a senior researcher at Tel Aviv University, elaborated in a radio interview on Sept. 15. And in August, according to a report in Ynet, government ministers had already started pressuring Netanyahu to “cleanse” northern Gaza of its inhabitants.

Israeli extermination plan underway in northern Gaza

Three prominent Palestinian human rights groups – Al-Haq, Al Mezan and the Palestinian Center for Human Rights – said this week that civilians in northern Gaza are “are being punished for continuing to refuse to follow Israel’s unlawful forcible displacement orders.”

With no safe place to go, Palestinians in Gaza’s north are fearful that if they flee, they will never be able to return.

Israel’s plan to resettle Gaza by illegally transferring its own civilian population to and annexing the north “is becoming clearer with every day that passes,” the Palestinian human rights groups said.

Demonstrating that point, several Israeli lawmakers from Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s Likud party plan to participate in a conference titled “Preparing to Resettle Gaza” to be held on Monday.

LIVE: Israeli attack on Gaza’s Beit Lahiya kills at least 73

People were forced to evacuate to that area due to the scale and the intensity of the massive Israeli bombardment that was taking place in the more central and eastern parts, particularly in Jabalia.

So, many people were forced into that area, and as soon as they gathered, they got bombed and killed in the places they were seeking shelter.

The confirmed reports we got say multiple air strikes took place targeting an entire residential block in western Beit Lahiya cit – very packed with people, the local residents as well as those who evacuated earlier.

The attack was so massive that it shook the entire western part of Beit Lahiya.

Is this Iran’s ‘Chernobyl moment’?

(January 14, 2020)

This reckoning is already being billed as Iran’s “Chernobyl” moment, an analogy to the way the 1986 nuclear disaster in the Soviet Ukraine “exposed all the incompetence, state deception and rot in that regime,” according to IranWire, a site for Iranian citizen journalists in the diaspora.”

But whether Iran’s grief and fury could lead to revolution is hard to tell.
