Since it‘s a new approach, there could be challenges and troubles, Moon said during the event at Mokran House.

The Blue House said in a separate readout that the two leaders agreed to quote „explore the idea of meeting in person“ on the sidelines of the General Assembly in New York.
„I believe President Moon‘s role has only become greater,“ the official from the presidential office Cheong Wa Dae said when asked about any possible change to Moon‘s scheduled trip after U.S. President Donald Trump on Friday abruptly called off Pompeo‘s visit.

The top leaders of the north and the south open-heartedly listened to each other‘s opinions on the crucial pending matters without formality, and had a candid dialogue. The meeting offers another historic occasion in opening up a new chapter in the development of the north-south relations.
The fourth north-south summit held at Panmunjom, recorded in history as a symbol of national reconciliation and unity, peace and prosperity, will provide all Koreans with a new hope and vitality.
Speaking on the condition of anonymity, the official said Seoul‘s intelligence chief Suh Hoon and his North Korean counterpart, Kim Yong-chol have been in close communication since the April 27th summit. Last Friday, Suh and Kim were discussing how to prepare for the North Korea-U.S. summit, and how to improve inter-Korean relations as part of the follow-up measures to the April 27 Panmunjom Declaration. During that process, the North Korean official relayed Kim Jong-un‘s desire for the leaders of the two Koreas to hold an informal and candid meeting.
Pyongyang‘s Korean Central Television aired seven minutes of footage Sunday morning from the second Moon-Kim summit. The background music was familiar to all Koreans: a song called „Our Hope is Reunification.“ „After just 29 days, another meeting of great importance has been held between the highest leaders of the North and the South at the historic site of Panmunjom.“
Footage of the opening and closing remarks were released this morning as well, showing the leaders of the two Koreas pledging to keep working to improve relations and meet more often. Let‘s take a look at some of what they had to say.

The recently held Inter-Korea summit seems to have created some progress towards a peace treaty, and the potential for the nuclear disarmament of North Korea. While the countries of the immediate region and United States are deemed to have the most a stake in a less hostile posture on the Korean peninsula, Australia also has a significant interest in the development of greater trust and cooperation between the two Koreas.
„It was clear that the commitment we hear from the North and the leadership is not simply rhetoric, but (they) carefully analyzed and understood obstacles and (they recognize) that it will be a hard process that requires careful attention from others,“ Reverend Christopher Ferguson, the general secretary of the World Communion of Reformed Churches (WCRC), said in a press conference.

According to Jiji Press, in a telephone conversation on April 29, South Korean President Moon Jae-in told Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe that North Korean leader Kim Jong-un expressed readiness to have dialogue with Japan at „any time“ during the inter-Korean summit. It‘s unclear when a Japan-North Korea summit will be held, but surely it will be after the US-North Korea summit. Junichiro Koizumi is the only Japanese prime minister who visited Pyongyang since the Korean War ended in 1953. Abe may want to be the second Japanese prime minister who visits North Korea in history instead of inviting Kim to Tokyo.
