In a letter from his lawyer to the Supreme Court, Justice Minister Yariv Levin pledged to convene the Judicial Appointments Committee within 15 days. The court had been scheduled to hear challenges to his hold-ups, which have resulted in backlogs in filling vacated bench positions.
„The justice minister believes there is no justification for being preoccupied with disputes during a war,“ the letter said.
When cabinet ministers, under the leadership and guidance of the prime minister and justice minister, two human demons who have taken over the state, insult and denounce the High Court of Justice merely for hearing petitions (which it could end up rejecting), Israel can no longer be seen as a democratic, liberal state. Nor is it Jewish, because what Bezalel Smotrich and Itamar Ben-Gvir and Eliyahu and Strock represent is not Judaism. It is messianism, racism and degradation.

„Today, it is already clear to everyone who really controls this state and leads it to destruction. Levin may have hijacked the country, but we will free the state from his hands,“ protest organizers declared in a statement.
Knesset Speaker Yariv Levin is slated to announce that Yesh Atid‘s Yair Lapid has succeeded in forming a coalition at the parliament‘s meeting on Monday. This means that the government that Lapid has put together with Yamina‘s Naftali Bennett will be sworn in by next Monday at the latest.
Hadash, one of the three parties making up the Joint List, is opposed as a matter of principle to a government headed by the right-wing Bennett, but the Joint List is also committed to preventing Netanyahu from benefitting from the faction’s votes in the Knesset. Therefore, if there are any further defections from the ranks of the Knesset members from the future coalition, the Joint List’s decision to vote against the new government would be reevaluated.
The Lapid-Bennett coalition‘s candidate for the job is Yesh Atid‘s Mickey Levy. The request, signed by 61 out of 120 lawmakers, means a vote on the key position is set for the next time the Knesset convenes on Monday.
