Der SWIFT-Code – mitunter auch SWIFT-Nummer genannt – ist ein einheitliches Format für Business Identifier Codes (BIC). Banken und Finanzinstitute nutzen diesen Code, um sich weltweit identifizieren zu können. Der Code gibt an, um welche Institution es sich handelt und wo sich diese befindet – sozusagen eine internationale Bankleitzahl oder ein internationaler Ausweis.

The EU prevented the US UK plan to ban either Sberbank or Gazprombank from SWIFT, if the EU had agreed the invasion would have been over in March.

Yermak: EU discusses disconnection of Gazprombank and three other Russian banks from SWIFT
“The EU is reported to be discussing the disconnection of four more Russian banks from SWIFT: Gazprombank, Alfa-Bank, Rosbank and Tinkoff Bank,” he said, without giving his sources.
Yermak pointed out that Gazprombank was paying for the export of Russian gas.
