Watson Purge Fails

(21.09.2019)

If you had a lie-in this morning you may have missed that Momentum’s attempt to purge Watson has failed. You may have missed it had even started last night. Jon Lansman, the multi-millionaire founder of Momentum proposed to the party’s governing NEC that the position of Deputy Leader be abolished. The headbanging outriders of Corbyn on Twitter were ecstatic, most Labour MPs were alarmed, it was reported that Gordon Brown had phoned Corbyn and McDonnell to lobby against the move, Tony Blair publicly backed the man who initiated the “curry plot” that led to his demise. Corbyn blinked.

“Ally” Jon Lansman wanted Jeremy Corbyn removed

(06.09.2019)

Jon Lansman, a prominent figure in the UK Labour Party, advocated that Jeremy Corbyn be removed as party leader three years ago.

The revelation challenges Lansman’s reputation as a key Corbyn supporter.

In 2016, Lansman told Labour activist Graham Bash that the left would be much better served if Corbyn was replaced by John McDonnell, the shadow finance minister.

Labour will table bid for second Brexit referendum within a fortnight, says John McDonnell

Theresa May has made clear she will bring her deal back for MPs to vote on by 12 March.

Mr McDonnell said this will be when Jeremy Corbyn puts the party’s amendment forward for a Final Say referendum on Brexit.

Theresa May to face grilling from senior MPs over her Brexit agenda

The party says its amendment fulfils the commitments made at the Labour Party‘s conference to oppose any deal the Tories brought back that does not meet its six tests, and protect the country from the consequences of a no deal scenario.

But there is no mention in the amendment of a second referendum, despite shadow chancellor John McDonnell suggesting earlier that it is „inevitable“ if Labour is not able to force a general election.

If Labour supports a second referendum and campaigns to remain it will be in opposition for decades to come. Millions of voters will abandon it. Labour will no longer be the party of ‘labour’ but of capital. It will cease to represent working class communities.

VOTE SPLIT: Labour row erupts after John McDonnell claims another Brexit vote is ‘inevitable’

A HUGE row erupted at the top of the Labour party after Shadow Chancellor John McDonnell said it was “inevitable” there would be another vote on Brexit and he’d back Remain.

It comes despite eurosceptic Leader Jeremy Corbyn saying only 11 days ago a second referendum was not an option as Mr McDonell said No Deal should not be on the ballot paper.
