The European Commission, in fact, avoided commenting on the substance of the matter on Tuesday and referred to the work of the European External Action Service (EEAS) on foreign information manipulation and interference (FIMI).

EU spokesperson Paula Pinho explained that the issue falls under the purview of the EEAS and stated that the Commission has no information of its own on this matter.
