“Please stay with me dad .. no one left for me except you” Wael Dahdouh’a daughter to her father. All her family members were killed by Israeli forces except her father Wael!
This is unbearable. Al Jazeera‘s Wael al-Dahdouh mourns his son Hamza, also a journalist, who was killed in an Israeli strike on a car he was in. Wael‘s wife and two other children were killed in a previous Israeli strike. He has been through so much.
This is no indiscriminate bombing. It is a targeted assassination! A photo shows the Israeli surgical attack against Hamza, the son of Aljazeera‘s chief correspondent in Gaza, @WaelDahdouh.
Israel killed 109 journalists in Gaza over the past 90 days!
Hamza, son of Al Jazeera’s Wael Dahdouh, killed in Israeli attack in Gaza
When he lost his wife, son, daughter, and grandson to the Israeli air raid at the end of October, the world watched, aghast, as he ran into the hospital where the bodies of his four loved ones had been moved.
After saying his emotional goodbyes to his children, grandchild, and life partner, he also seemed more determined than ever to perform his job.
Then in mid-December, he was badly injured in an attack that killed his colleague Samer Abudaqa, but he was again out and about covering the news shortly after.
An Al Jazeera journalist is the fifth member of his family killed by Israeli strikes on Gaza
Hamza Dahdouh is the son of veteran Al Jazeera correspondent Wael Dahdouh, whose wife, two other children and a grandson were killed by a previous Israeli strike.
Dahdouh has continued to report on the fighting between Israel and Hamas even as it has taken a devastating toll on his own family, becoming a symbol for many of the perils faced by Palestinian journalists, dozens of whom have been killed while covering the conflict.
