Czech Republic to be known as ‚Czechia‘
But „Czech“ is an adjective and cannot properly be used as a name for the country. Some have criticised „Czechia“ as ugly, or too similar to „Chechnya“, the semi-autonomous Russian republic.

Experimentele Muziek By meistsonnig
On occasion of a recent stay in the Netherlands I scratched the surface of the experimental music scene there, starting from the blog http://experimentaldutch.tumblr.com/.
Any hints to artists who should have been included into this set are most welcome and considered in an eventual sequel.

Neoliberalism – the ideology at the root of all our problems
Its anonymity is both a symptom and cause of its power. It has played a major role in a remarkable variety of crises: the financial meltdown of 2007‑8, the offshoring of wealth and power, of which the Panama Papers offer us merely a glimpse, the slow collapse of public health and education, resurgent child poverty, the epidemic of loneliness, the collapse of ecosystems, the rise of Donald Trump. But we respond to these crises as if they emerge in isolation, apparently unaware that they have all been either catalysed or exacerbated by the same coherent philosophy; a philosophy that has – or had – a name. What greater power can there be than to operate namelessly?

Thousands of refugees flee for Turkish border after surprise Isis attack
The Isis advance appeared to catch the opposition off guard after 12 days of gains in the same area, which had seen it move closer to Dabiq than at any time in the past three years.
Units linked to the Free Syria Army, which led the offensive, said they never intended to seize the village, and were instead intending to push further across the north towards the town of Minbij, which lies roughly halfway between Isis’s two largest hubs in the area, al-Bab and Raqqa.

On Wednesday, the U.S. State Department released its 2015 Country Reports on Human Rights, which tracks human rights around the world without including its own country.

The EU is an ‘ancien régime’ that is no longer fit for purpose
(14.April) Our only hope today is the same as that expressed by the great William Pitt the Younger, of which you certainly need no reminding. “England has saved herself by her exertions and will, as I trust, save Europe by her example.” For that to have a chance of happening we have to vote to leave on 23rd June. We certainly cannot change the EU from the inside, and if we vote to stay the EU will exact a terrible revenge for our bloody-mindedness. However, by leaving we might just encourage people like the Dutch, the Germans and the Scandinavians of the need for real, as opposed to superficial, change.
Microsoft lawsuit against government relies on speech, privacy rights
When a company keeps data on its own servers, the government must approach it directly with any warrant to search for data. But if the company relies on a third party for cloud storage, the government could go directly to the cloud provider, and the company might never know.
Not a single strategically important position surrendered to Azerbaijan – Armenian defense minister
In his words, the bulk of the positions the Armenian side surrendered initially were fought back, and as for the up-and-down movement on 400-500-meter area, ‘this is not a protected and not significant to us territory – it serves only for maneuvering’.
