The Kerry-Lavrov chess match

by Pepe Escobar

The key problem is that Washington immovably considers the present Kiev set up – also known as the Khaganate of Nulands, as in State Department Assistant Secretary of State Victoria Nulands – as legitimate. Moscow sees them as a bunch of putschists and fascists. And Washington still refuses to press Kiev to accept a federal system – thus allowing, among other things, Russian as an official second language.

Details Show MIT Employees Gleefully Helped With Prosecution And Persecution Of Aaron Swartz

Last summer, MIT tried (weakly) to defend what it called its „neutral“ stance on Aaron Swartz, allowing the case to proceed even though the only party that had a legitimate claim to „harm,“ JSTOR, had come out almost immediately after Swartz‘s indictment to say that it did not support the prosecution. Around the same time, we noted that MIT was in the midst of a legal fight to block the release of Swartz‘s Secret Service file. Some found this effort a bit odd — but the reasons are now becoming clear. An investigative report by the Boston Globe, scouring 7,000 pages of discovery documents in the case, found that some employees at MIT appeared to gleefully support going after Swartz with all of the powers of the DOJ.

Apple, Google, Adobe And Intel Have To Face The Music Over Collusive Hiring Practices

It‘s been nearly five years since we wrote about a DOJ investigation into collusive activity between a number of technology giants, in which the companies basically agreed not to poach employees from one another in an effort to keep salaries and employee turnover down. As the details have come out over the years, they‘ve looked worse and worse, with Steve Jobs acting as sort of a ring leader — or really more of a mob boss — threatening retaliation (via patent infringement lawsuits) against companies that didn‘t obey the „rules.“ It‘s one thing to want to be careful about hiring practices to avoid angering a partner, but it‘s quite another to set up an official agreed-upon policy between a bunch of companies not to go after certain employees.

An attorney asks: Are Climate Skeptics Legally Liable for Criminal Negligence?

The background on this is that three sides exist in the climate change argument: one, the warmists, those who fervently believe that man’s activities by
burning fossil fuels will drive up the Earth’s temperature and cause all manner of horrible happenings; two, the skeptics, those who understand that the science simply does not support the warmists’ view, that any increase in global temperature is related to natural cycles but not to man’s fossil fuel consumption; and three, lukewarmers, those whose views fall in between the warmists and the skeptics. Disclosure: my own view after long and careful study and based on engineering, science, and mathematics, is that of a confirmed skeptic with a full understanding that carbon dioxide, CO2, does indeed absorb and emit thermal radiant energy.

BULLETIN 7: Widersetzt Euch dem Luzifer-Effekt
