Pakistan shows off new Afghan border fence

Afghanistan has refused to recognise the Durand Line, a 2,400-kilometre frontier drawn by the British in 1896, as it splits the Pashtun ethnic group between the nations. Some villages straddle the frontier, with mosques and houses with one door in Pakistan and another in Afghanistan.

As the US Retreats from the World, Europeans Start Looking Elsewhere

The election of Donald Trump ushered in a wave of presidential attacks on transatlanticism, calling into question America’s commitment to Article 5 of the NATO treaty, the premise of postwar order in Europe.

An assertive nationalism now dominates diplomatic thinking in America, offering little by way of reassurance to allies. Yet, despite numerous threats to undo America’s longstanding international commitments, the vast majority remain intact. Indeed, if this trend continues, then things may eventually normalize.

Raffy Reviews – Xanthochroid: ‚Of Erthe and Axen‘ (Act I & II)

On this day, the epically progressive and highly experimental black metal project known as Xanthochroid has finally released the second half of their new album Of Erthe and Axen. This act, which hails from California and has been active for a little over a decade now, considers their stylistic brand of music as „cinematic“ or „epic“ black metal. A follow-up to their 2012 full-length breakout, Of Erthe and Axen was unveiled through the band‘s own label (having the same name as this album, oddly enough) and strives to do many things different as opposed to your traditional black metal sound…
