Koalitionskrise in Israel wegen Rundfunkanstalt
Israeli coalition crisis raises threat of new elections
Benjamin Netanyahu insisted his coalition partners were required to side with his ruling Likud party regarding all media regulation matters. The conflict centers on the fate of the struggling state-run Israel Broadcasting Authority. Netanyahu initially ordered it shut down and replaced with a new corporation, only to reverse course once the emerging personnel of the new body did not seem favorable as hoped to his administration. Finance Minister Moshe Kahlon, head of the centrist Kulanu party, insists the corporation start broadcasting next month as planned.
The crisis has sparked speculation that the coalition could fall apart, and new elections called.
By Threatening Elections, Netanyahu Is Taking a Huge Risk – Why Now?
Netanyahu is threatening to close the corporation sometime over the next six months, eight months maybe, after a new coalition is established that he hopes to head, after the Israel Broadcasting Authority will have long ceased to exist, its buildings sold, its workers scattered to the wind. This is crazy even in the crazy environment we live in. Who would support this? Who would join such a baseless, imaginary coalition?

Prosecutors find no wrongdoing in shower death at Dade Correctional mental health unit
(17.3.2017) The final report does not address why the case was put on hold, or why, nearly five years later, the autopsy has never been released.
Dr. Emma Lew, Miami-Dade’s medical examiner, was emphatic, however, that Rainey did not suffer burns of any kind, and there was no evidence of any trauma on his body, according to the state attorney’s report issued Friday.
Rundle Won‘t Charge Prison Guards Who Allegedly Boiled Schizophrenic Black Man to Death
Rainey was heard screaming „Please take me out! I can’t take it anymore!” and kicking the shower door. Inmates said prison guards laughed at Rainey and shouted „Is it hot enough?“
Rainey died inside that shower. He was found crumpled on the floor. When his body was pulled out, nurses said there were burns on 90 percent of his body. A nurse said his body temperature was too high to register with a thermometer. And his skin fell off at the touch.

Juli an.
Emmanuel Macron seeks French conservative support with proposal to restore compulsory military service

News Analysis: With 11 presidential hopefuls, French voters disoriented by chaotic campaign
Rarely has a vote been so undecided less than five weeks before the first round of voting. There is one certainty: The 10th presidential election of the Fifth Republic of France will be written into history. Never, in fact, has a campaign experienced so many shocks since General de Gaulle made the vote central to French political life.

Could one real compliance officer have saved the Navy‘s Pacific Command?
(25.1.2017) The Fat Leonard scandal has decimated the U.S. Navy‘s Pacific Command. So far, sixteen defendants have been charged in the case. They include an Admiral, five Commanders, a Captain, and a Petty Officer. In other words, the chain of command.

EDITOR’S 2 CENTS: Trump’s war with CIA was preceded by Kennedy’s
The New York Times, in a front-page story, said that the president “wanted to splinter the CIA in a thousand pieces and scatter it to the winds.”
Whether that quote is accurate or not we don’t know, but it makes sense that after the agency damaged the president’s reputation so badly, he would react with such anger.
If you are a student of history, you already know that the president who swore a vendetta against the Central Intelligence Agency wasn’t Donald Trump, but John F. Kennedy, and that although he did not abolish the agency before his assassination, he did fire its director, Allen Dulles, in an effort to gain control over what was considered a rogue agency that had forced Kennedy’s hand in the Bay of Pigs disaster.
Fox News: ‘No evidence of any kind’ that Obama wiretapped Trump
Smith also asked why Trump relied on Napolitano’s commentary, rather than information from U.S. intelligence agencies.
“Of course, the president could learn first-hand whether the building in which he lives was wiretapped,” Smith said. “All he’d have to do is ask the intelligence services; they work for him.”

G20 trade wording considered a setback for export champion Germany
The weak wording on trade is a defeat for the German G20 presidency,“ Ifo economist Gabriel Felbermayr told Reuters.
„This is particularly true in the light of the fact that Germany is one of the world‘s strongest export nations and relies on open markets to maintain its prosperity like hardly any other country.“
Michael Hayden: Trump Hinting at ‚Incidental Collection‘ in Latest Wiretap Claims
Under the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act, the attorney general and director of national intelligence can authorize spy agencies to „sweep up“ the telephone and Internet data of U.S. residents who communicate with foreign targets in what is known as „incidental collection.“
The secret FISA court allows the surveillance in accordance with the Fourth Amendment to the Constitution.
The agencies can then search those communications for evidence of crimes, even if they are not related to terrorism.
Trump: ‘Very Interesting Items’ Will Come To Light ‘Over The Next Two Weeks’
