Steinmeier left no doubt about what he means by this: The development of a German strategy in the competitive struggle of the great powers to redivide the world. He noted, “crises and conflicts are coming thick and fast at the moment, and that is no coincidence. It is a reflection of the wrestling for supremacy, the power struggles between old and new powers, between state and non-state players with a wealth of interests, ambitions, ideologies.”

Mercenaries, commanders fight over cash from Saudi Arabia
Meanwhile, some of the Saudi mercenaries, from the so-called al-Soqour Brigade, have set up checkpoints in the border area between the provinces of Ma’rib and Jawf and are preventing Saudi military equipment from crossing because they have not received their payments for months.
Many of the mercenaries in Ma’rib also left the Saudi-funded military bases after they received only 600 Saudi riyals instead of the promised 1,400 riyals.

See a summer solstice full moon for the 1st time in decades
The moon becomes full every 29.5 days, or 12 to 13 times a year. But because the moon‘s cycle doesn‘t divide evenly into the number of days in our calendar year, the full moon(s) for a given month is shifted about 11 or 12 days per year.

Orthodox Council in Crete will not consider Ukrainian parliament’s message
On June 16, the Ukrainian parliament asked Patriarch Bartholomew to grant autocephaly to the Orthodox Church in Ukraine. The resolution was carried by a 238 majority vote (while the required minimum is 226 votes). Drones and solitary confinement: The dehumanisation industrial complex
“Solitary confinement is the deep-end of our prison system; it’s designed to crush, weaken, and destroy a human being. No matter how much I danced, sang, exercised, debated politics with ghosts, raged, composed poetry, and tried desperately to love myself, solitary confinement continued to hurt me.”

What I Learned Volunteering at America’s Largest No-Kill Animal Sanctuary
I think what I experienced at the sanctuary was the empathy. “Save Them All” is the kind of audacious compassion that energizes Best Friends, similar to that experienced by anyone who takes the time to help homeless dogs or cats or birds or rabbits or horses. It can make you feel like anything is possible.
