Saudi FM says Assad will ultimately be ousted

Assad says he sees risk of Saudi, Turkish intervention in Syria
Assad told during the interview that his regime‘s eventual goal was to retake all of Syria, large swathes of which are under the control of rebel forces or the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) group.
„Regardless of whether we can do that or not, this is a goal we are seeking to achieve without any hesitation,“ he was quoted as saying.

Bei der Beurteilung neuer Gentechnikverfahren zeigten sich die Politikvertreter allerdings wesentlich offener als die Öko-Produzenten.
Dass in Deutschland in den letzten Jahren keine Gentechnik mehr auf dem Acker wuchs – zuletzt gab es 2011 auf kleinen Flächen einige transgene Kartoffeln von BASF – sei „ein großer Erfolg der Zivilgesellschaft“, erklärte Peter Röhrig, der den Bio-Dachverband „Bund Ökologische Lebensmittelwirtschaft“ (BÖLW) leitet. Auch für 2016 rechne er nicht mit dem Anbau von gentechnisch veränderten Pflanzen hierzulande.
US-Kongress verbietet Steuer auf Internetzugang
Versuche, in Europa eine Internetsteuer einzuführen, sind bislang gescheitert. So plante der damalige französische Präsident Nicolas Sarkozy im Jahr 2008 eine neue Steuer für Internetprovider, um damit ein werbefreies Fernsehprogramm finanzieren zu können. Der ungarische Ministerpräsident Viktor Orbán scheiterte im Herbst 2014 mit dem Versuch, eine Steuer auf den Datentraffic einzuführen. EU-Pilotprojekt „Intelligente Grenzen“ wird nach dessen Ende von der Bundespolizei weitergeführt

Hierzu gehörten das automatisierte Grenzkontrollsystem „easygate“, die Integration von Fingerabdruckscannern und Gesichtsbildkamera, weitere Installationen zum Dokumentenmanagement und entsprechende Server zur Verarbeitung biometrischer Daten sowie die Anbindung an die reguläre Grenzkontrolle.
Im Frühjahr sollen die Ergebnisse in einen neuen Vorschlag der Kommission zur Errichtung des Systems „Intelligente Grenzen“ münden. Mittlerweile haben sich die EU-Innen- und Justizministerinnen und -Minister auf Initiative Frankreichs dafür ausgesprochen, das System „Intelligente Grenzen“ auch auf Staats-angehörige von EU-Mitgliedstaaten auszuweiten. It should be noted here that from information posted on social media as well as in the course of its efforts to secure the release of the peacekeepers, the United Nations learned that its personnel had been taken and held by members of the Nusra Front.
