Kritik an der Novelle des Urheberrechtsgesetzes und am Leistungsschutzrecht kam indes vom Österreichischen Journalisten Club (ÖJC). Diese „autorenfeindliche“ Novelle fördere im klassischen Sinne die Rechte der Verlage, aber nicht die der Autoren, die den Content schaffen. Besonders deutlich werde dies beim Leistungsschutzrecht. „Dabei soll künftig eine eigene VÖZ-Verwertungsgesellschaft den von Suchmaschinen erwirtschafteten Geldkuchen unter den Verlagen verteilen, aber die Autoren bekommen keinen Cent“, so der ÖJC.

„East StratCom“: Die Europäische Union startet gleichermaßen Initiativen. So hat Brüssel einen „Aktionsplan zu strategischer Kommunikation“ vorgelegt, um „Desinformationsaktivitäten von externen Akteuren“ zu konterkarieren.[11] Die Anstrengungen sollen sich dem Dokument zufolge „vor allem auf die Entwicklung von positiven und effektiven Botschaften zur EU-Politik in der Region konzentrieren“ und dabei insbesondere die erhebenden Wirkungen der EU auf das tägliche Leben der Menschen hervorheben, um so den Brüsseler Botschaften zu größerer Popularität zu verhelfen. Die Koordination der einzelnen medialen Maßnahmen obliegt dabei Fachkräften für strategische Kommunikation, dem sogenannten „East StratCom Team“. Die EU will dabei auch härter gegen „negative“ Botschaften „externer Akteure“ vorgehen; dies richtet sich gegen russische Sender wie „Sputnik“ und „Russia Today“. Dabei ist davon die Rede, „das regulative Umfeld zu stärken“, um „den aktuellen Herausforderungen gerecht zu werden“.[12]

Parallel dazu hat das von den EU-Staaten und Brüssel finanzierte „European Endowment for Democracy“ (EED), dessen Exekutiv-Komitee der bundesdeutsche Europaparlamentarier Alexander Graf Lambsdorff (FDP) vorsitzt, Vorschläge zur Minimierung des russischen Einflusses in Osteuropa erarbeitet. Sie umfassen unter anderem die Einrichtung eines Medienpools und einer Distributionsplattform für russischsprachige Medienbeiträge, den Aufbau einer „content factory“ durch Sender mehrerer Länder sowie die Schaffung eines Exzellenz-Centers zur Professionalisierung der journalistischen Arbeit.

Wolfgang Schäuble, der heute im Amt des Finanzministers die Spardiktate exekutiert, hat in den 1990er Jahren ebenfalls dazu beigetragen, die deutsche Machtbasis zu schaffen, die Berlin nun den unaufhaltsamen Durchmarsch ermöglicht. Schäuble, der Anfang der 1980er Jahre als Präsident der „Arbeitsgemeinschaft Europäischer Grenzregionen“ – zu deren Beratern gehörte unter anderem ein früherer NS-Spezialist für Grenzsubversion, Theodor Veiter [6] – erste wirtschaftliche Ausgriffe nicht zuletzt nach Frankreich organisierte, half nach dem Zusammenbruch des Realsozialismus und der Übernahme der DDR nicht nur, auf gestärkter Basis die EU-Osterweiterung durchzusetzen.[7] Dieser Schritt brachte die Bundesrepublik in klaren Vorteil gegenüber Frankreich, dessen traditionelle Einflusszone rings um das Mittelmeer und in der afrikanischen Frankophonie nicht in vergleichbarer Weise an die EU angebunden wurde. Schäuble entwickelte Mitte der 1990er Jahre zudem das „Kerneuropa“-Konzept, dem zufolge „ein starkes Zentrum“ um Deutschland in der EU einen eng integrierten „Kern“ zu bilden hatte, der die EU nicht nur zusammenhalten, sondern faktisch auch ihre Politik vorgeben sollte.[8] Einen solchen Kern stellt heute unter anderem die Eurogruppe dar, die am Sonntag äußerst weitreichende Entscheidungen traf, bei denen es um nichts Geringeres als den Bestand der EU in ihrer heutigen Form ging. Nicht mitentscheiden konnten neun Mitgliedstaaten, darunter Großbritannien, Schweden und Polen. Der Eurogruppen-Kern ist eines der Formate, die es Berlin heute ermöglichen, dem Staatenbund seinen Stempel aufzudrücken.

Well over a decade of negotiations on Iran’s civilian nuclear program have finally reached a conclusion, with the Islamic Republic and its latest interlocutors, the P5+1, sealing an agreement.
The hitherto elusive agreement was finally nailed down on Tuesday in the ritzy Palais Coburg Hotel in the Austrian capital of Vienna, where negotiators from Iran and the six other countries had recently been spending over two weeks to work out the remaining technical and political issues.

Condemned to lead to impasse, their purpose was to pave the ground for what Dr Schäuble had decided was ‘optimal’ well before our government was even elected: That Greece should be eased out of the Eurozone in order to discipline member-states resisting his very specific plan for re-structuring the Eurozone.

Warum wir uns als Redaktion durch Maaßens Äußerungen und die Strafanzeigen direkt betroffen sehen, hat mit dem Ziel solcher Ermittlungen zu tun. Im Kern besteht das Ziel darin, herauszufinden, wer Journalisten über vertrauliche Vorgänge informiert. Damit geraten aber nicht nur diejenigen, die versuchen, Licht in schattige Bereiche zu bringen, selbst in Gefahr, zur Zielscheibe staatlicher Überwachungsmaßmahnen zu werden, sondern eben auch deren Kontakte in den Redaktionen.

White House So Desperate To Get TPP Approved, It Agrees To Whitewash Mass Graves & Human Trafficking In Malaysia
At the end of last month, Trade Promotion Authority (TPA), better known as „fast track“ for various trade agreements, was approved after a series of back and forth procedural moves by Congress. This means that Congress no longer has the (Constitutionally-provided) power to have a say in the trade deals the administration is creating, other than a single up-or-down vote when everything is set in stone. There was, however, one tiny poison pill that Senator Bob Menendez supposedly hid in the TPA concerning the Trans Pacific Partnership (TPP) agreement. And that was that it could not be used if the trade agreement included countries that were listed as a „tier 3 nation“ by the State Department when it comes to human rights violations. Malaysia, one of the countries that is a part of the TPP, has been designated a „tier 3 nation“ by the State Department for a while now, due to serious human trafficking problems.
