In October, Egyptian armed forces began evicting thousands of families from their homes along the border with the Gaza Strip. These evictions were a violation of international human rights laws.
The intention was to widen the buffer zone with Gaza and strengthen the siege that is strangulating the region.
Sisi is not only guilty of terrorising his own population but is complicit with Israel in terrorising the Gazans.
Mansour is not an isolated case, and while 70 journalists languish in Egyptian jails, Western democracies turn a blind eye to the countless freedoms, which it so desperately claims to champion, being violated by Egypt. Once again, economic and political gains have trumped moral authority.
According to Spanish Judge Fernando Andreu Merelles, who has initiated litigation against Karake at The Hague-based International Criminal Court (ICC), the intelligence chief is guilty of ordering the murder of Rwandan politicians and court witnesses — including a number of foreign nationals — in the period between 1992 and 1994.
Former arrogant colonial power and conqueror, then sovereignist Gaullist Republic, France is now relegated to the status of American sub-colony whose independence and national interests are routinely violated and trampled, as much by the stateless and spineless leaders in Paris, repeatedly guilty of the crime of high treason (abolished, thankfully for them), as by the imperial hawks in Washington.
In December last year, Russian citizens launched a petition seeking to prevent the passing of the Internet Tax law, claiming it would force the majority of internet users to pay for content that they never download or use. At the same time, the country’s major internet providers wrote an open letter to President Vladimir Putin asking him to block the bill as it violated the constitutional right for private correspondence, and also the norms of the World Intellectual Property Organization.
Once again, SpaceX has audaciously attempted to land a rocket in the middle of the ocean, and once again, something went horribly wrong. Unlike the first two tries earlier this year, this one didn’t make it to the ground, not even close.
Here comes yet another drone-zapping laser: A German missile manufacturer built this Death Star-like beam to protect world leaders. And it works, too: in a field test, it took down a mini-drone in three seconds flat.
Constantly attracting a significant amount of foreign air arms, Anatolian Eagle, a medium-scale exercise held at Konya airbase, in central Turkey, has become a high-tech exercise that gives participating units the opportunity to assess their capabilities and readiness for war, to improve multinational cooperation, and to test new weapons systems: some extremely important tasks, especially for nations such as Turkey which face increasing instability, pressure and threats along their borders.
Marine Corps Forces Europe and Africa leads the exercise in coordination with the 2nd Marine Expeditionary Brigade, bringing together a joint-task force to integrate the international coalition of Moroccan, U.S., U.K., German, Belgium, Netherlands, Mauritanian and Senegalese armed forces. The international coalition in Tifnit is just one piece of the exercise that spans from Ben Guerir in the north to port of Agadir and south to the desert training area of Tan Tan. (3.Juni 2015)
For many analysts, there is a goal for the recent sharpening of this dialogue. They argue that the electoral rhetoric used by Republicans and Democrats is aimed at diverting public attention from the severe structural failures of the American economic system and their impact on the social condition of the population. The central theme for the coming campaign seems thus to have been decided upon consensually among the contenders. Foreign policy and issues specifically concerning countries many Americans would have difficulty locating on a map will be the focus of the campaigns. However, this is nothing new to American politics. The theme will unsurprisingly be Iran, Iraq, Syria, Yemen, Libya, Egypt, Nigeria, Al Qaida, and ISIS. The consensus requires that contestants not mention that the explosive situation in this part of the world is essentially of the making of the United States itself.

Edmar Castaneda is the sort of musician who isn‘t afraid to challenge the established order. He‘s carving out a place for himself in Latin jazz on an instrument you don‘t often hear in his chosen genre: the Colombian harp. He‘s adapted intricate traditional fingerpicking techniques to play jazz melodies along with the Afro-Cuban tumbao (bass line). As you can see and hear for yourself in this Tiny Desk Concert, he can switch between rural Colombian dance music and jazz with a twist of his wrist. Literally.

“I have said many times before and I will say it again today, no deal is better than a bad deal. There are red lines that we cannot cross and some very difficult decisions and tough choices are going to have to be made by all of us,” he said.

(27.Juni) QUESTION: Are you optimistic you will get an agreement?
SECRETARY KERRY: Well, I think it’s fair to say that we’re hopeful. We have a lot of hard work to do. We have some very tough issues, and I think we all look forward to getting down to the final effort here to see whether or not a deal is possible. I think that everybody would like to see an agreement, but we have to work through some difficult issues.
FOREIGN MINISTER ZARIF: Well, I agree. I agree maybe not on the issues, but on the fact that we need to work really hard in order to be able to make progress and move forward. We’re determined to do everything we can in order to be able to make this important milestone, but that depends on a lot of things and we’re going to work on them.
U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry met Sunday in Vienna with Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif, their third encounter since Saturday.
As gaps remained between all sides in the talks, Zarif planned to return to Tehran for 24 hours for consultations with Iran‘s leadership ahead of the June 30 deadline for a deal.
“We have a lot of hard work to do. We have some very tough issues, and I think we all look forward to getting down to the final effort here to see whether or not a deal is possible,” Kerry told reporters in the Austrian capital, Vienna, on Saturday.
“I think that everybody would like to see an agreement, but we have to work through some difficult issues,” he said.
“Do not think that Iran needs a deal. We welcome an agreement, but I do not let you think that if you exert more pressure, Iran will tolerate. Do not make Iran withdraw from the talks and do not make it follow its nuclear path more speedily,” Ali Larijani, speaker of the Iranian Parliament said.
