Everywhere at the end of time by The Caretaker

Featuring the sounds from the journey The Caretaker
will make after being diagnosed as having early
onset dementia.
Each stage will reveal new points of progression,
loss and disintegration. Progressively falling further
and further towards the abyss of complete memory
loss and nothingness.
Viewing dementia as a series of stages can be
a useful way to understand the illness, but it is
important to realise that this only provides a rough
guide to the progress of the condition.
Drawing on a recorded history of 20 years of
recollected memories this is one final journey
and study into recreating the progression of
dementia through sound.

Athens: Five metro stations open all night for the Homeless Dec 30/16-Jan 3/17

This may be the coldest night of 2016. At 6:15 p.m. and the thermometer in my balcony proudly shows 3 degrees Celsius. Surviving a cold night it’s not a challenge only for the many households that cannot afford heating in times of economic crisis.

It is especially tough for the homeless who sometimes reject a place in a shelter.

Oettinger, who seems to be magnetically connected to all sorts of scandals has failed upward to a new job as the EU‘s budget chief, but as EU Parliament Member Julia Reda notes, he‘s still leaving a trail of internet destruction in his wake. In particular, she highlights ten everyday internet activities that would be outlawed if Oettinger‘s copyright and internet proposals become law.

Trump‘s Pick For Attorney General A Big Fan Of Civil Asset Forfeiture

Efforts to rein in civil forfeiture have been moving forward around the country. Several states have passed laws that remove some of the perverse incentives that have allowed law enforcement agencies to seize cash, cars, homes, and whatever else might be laying around without criminal convictions. Very few efforts have gone as far as to make convictions a requirement in every case, but most have at least closed the federal loophole that allowed agencies to bypass more restrictive state laws to take control of citizens‘ assets.

The federal government‘s use of asset forfeiture still remains untouched.

7-year-old caught in soldier stakeout at Kafr Qadum protest

Last Friday at midday, around 12:15, a group of protestors – residents of the village and Israeli activists – began marching toward a roadblock on the eastern side of the village. Testimonies collected by B’Tselem indicate that they reached a house on the eastern edge of the village, unaware of the presence of soldiers in the area. At that point, several children kept walking eastward, separately from the rest of the protestors.

Village resident Muamen Murad Mahmoud Shteiwi, 7, was one of these children.

The Two-State Solution: What It Is and Why It Hasn’t Happened

The two-state solution has for decades been the primary focus of efforts to achieve peace in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, but the contours of what it would actually look like — and why it has been so hard to achieve — can get lost. Here’s a basic guide.

From Uber to plumbers: here are the New Year‘s Eve ripoffs to avoid

Transport
If you choose to travel between midnight and 3am on New Year‘s Eve, expect a surge in prices from Uber, the car sharing service.
The ridesharing app uses „dynamic pricing“, which means the busier it is, the more you will pay.
Last year, customers in America reported spending almost 10 times more on Uber fares after midnight on New Year‘s Eve.
Uber could not give Telegraph Money an idea of what prices to expect on New Year‘s Eve in the UK but said the cost was „reactive“ and dependent on demand in the area.
