US Ambassador to Ukraine Gives Nazis Green Light

The events in Mariupol, Donetsk region (when neo-Nazi Azov fighters shot at a peaceful demonstration of residents on May 9, 2014) were hailed by Pyatt as an example of the struggle against the “Russian world” for all of Donbass during his meeting with representatives of the local government.

May 9 is a holiday that commemorates the capitulation of Nazi Germany to the Soviet Union at the end of Second World War, known in the Soviet Union as the Great Patriotic War. (25 million Soviet citizens were killed fighting the Hitler Army.) It‘s obvious that the US is trying to erase this history inside of Ukraine by encouraging the current US sponsored puppet regime in Kiev to use their neo-Nazi battalions to suppress any peaceful marches or assemblies that gather to remember the defeat of Hitler‘s forces.

First-ever ‘tailless’ comet discovered, could give clue to solar system formation

Scientists believe the comet was formed in the same region as Earth, the inner solar system, unlike most others that “are born” at much greater distances. Researchers say the planet then ejected and reached the so-called Oort Cloud, a cold region that preserved the comet from the sun for billions of years. At some point it entered an orbit that was in range for observation and study.

Pirates, Peasants and Proletarians

The Zapatista Army of National Liberation, or EZLN, rose up against the Mexican state on January 1, 1994. Before long the EZLN was caught up in fierce battles with the federal army and paramilitary groups that eventually led to the liberation and creation of autonomous zones, municipalities and communities in Chiapas. Across the region, different ethnic groups organize themselves in caracoles, where decisions are taken at the community level by local assemblies.

Manifest by Kazakh President Calls for Global Nuclear Disarmament, Steps to End Global Conflicts

This was the ambition that President Nazarbayev set out in the Manifest “The World. The 21st Century” published during this visit and outlined in his speech at the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace. It is a document that mixes the vision of a world in which the “virus of war” has been eradicated with practical steps to achieve that vision.

In what was a detailed blueprint for peace, he called, for example, for urgent action to prevent the spread of nuclear arms to space, the development of new and more dangerous weapons and the retreat into competing military blocs. “We should have learnt from past wars and conflicts that it is impossible to ensure our own security by undermining the security of others,” the President warned.

Canada’s Mistaken Arms Sale to Saudi Arabia

Earlier this month, Canada’s new Foreign Affairs Minister Stéphane Dion quietly issued export permits for a $15 billion sale of about 1,000 combat vehicles to Saudi Arabia, the green light for a highly controversial deal many Canadians thought had already been granted. It is the largest arms export contract in Canadian history.

President Obama: The Race for the Imperial Legacy

In Latin America, Obama has shed his shallow pretense of tolerating the center–left electoral regimes. Instead he is has joined with rabid authoritarian neo-liberals in Argentina; met with the judges and politicians engineering the overthrow of the current Brazilian government; and encouraged the emerging far-rightwing regimes in Peru under Keiko Fujimori and Colombia under President Santos.

In Asia, Obama has clearly escalated a military build-up threatening China’s principle waterways in the South China Sea. Obama encouraged aggressive and violent separatist groupings in Hong Kong, Tibet, Xinjian and Taiwan. Obama invites Beijing billionaires to relocate a trillion dollars in assets to the ‘laundry machines’ of North America, Europe and Asia. Meanwhile he has actively blocked China’s long-planned commercial ’silk route’ across Myanmar and west Asia.

In the Middle East, President Obama joined with Saudi Arabia as Riyadh escalated its brutal war and blockade in Yemen. He directed Kenya and other African predator states to attack Somalia. He has continued to back mercenary armies invading Syria while collaborating with the Turkish dictator, Erdogan, as Turkish troops bomb Kurdish, Syrian and Iraqi fighters who are engaged on the front lines against Islamist terrorism.

Work: U.S., NATO Must Use 21st-Century Approaches for Deterrence, Dominance

Work said the “technological sauce” of the first offset was miniaturization of nuclear components. In the second offset, he added, that “sauce” included digital microprocessors, information technologies, new sensors and stealth.

“We believe quite strongly that the technological sauce of the third offset is going to be advances in artificial intelligence and autonomy,” which will allow the department to create collaborative human-machine battle networks, he said.

Battle networks consist of three interconnected grids, Work explained — a sensor grid; a command, control, communications and intelligence grid; and an effects grid.

Artificial Intelligence and Autonomy

“AI and autonomy put inside these battle networks is going to allow collaborative human-machine operations to absolutely new levels, letting the machines do what they do best and humans do what they do best in what we call human-machine symbiosis,” the deputy secretary added.

The capabilities are being driven by revolutions in artificial intelligence, computer processing power, deep-learning machines and autonomous control systems, he said.

“DoD is going to leverage AI technology, particularly in things like cyber defense, electronic warfare defense and missile defense. But it’s also clear to us that we need to go to new levels of human-machine symbiosis,” Work added.

Carter to Host Counter-ISIL Meeting, Attend Eucom Change of Command

Defense Secretary Ash Carter will travel to Germany May 2-4 to deliver remarks at the change of command ceremony for U.S. European Command, and to host the latest meeting of defense ministers from countries leading the ongoing fight against the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant, according to a Defense Department news release.

“The counter-ISIL meeting, like previous coalition meetings in Paris and Brussels, will allow ministers to assess the state of the campaign, receive details on the latest steps the U.S. is taking to accelerate ISIL‘s defeat and identify additional capabilities the coalition may need in the future,” the release said.
