Israel Defense Forces Secret Intelligence Commander Named

(22.12.2014) The only individuals legally entitled to strike blows for Israeli accountability and transparency are, unfortunately, foreigners. That is why I’ve served as a conduit for brave Israelis willing to buck the tide against the secrecy monolith, by naming names like those of Israel’s intelligence chiefs before they were appointed to their positions; and the name of the IDF commander of Israel’s WMD force.

For that reason, I will name the current commander of Unit 8200: Brig. Gen. Ehud Schneerson. Schneerson, a distant relation to the Lubavitcher rebbe, Menachem Schneerson, worked his way up the ranks from within 8200.

Israel’s Unit 8200 refuseniks: ‘you can’t run from responsibility’

(12.September 2014) Did you feel your were violating people’s rights?

N: Definitely. In Israeli intelligence regarding Palestinians, they don’t really have rights. Nobody asks that question. It’s not [like] Israeli citizens, where if you want to gather information about them you need to go to court.

A: The only limitation is the limitation of resources. There’s no procedural questions regarding who can and cannot be surveilled. Everybody is fair game.

N: An 18-year-old soldier who thinks: “We need to gather information on this or that person” – that 18-year-old kid [in Unit 8200] is the one that decides.

One Way No More: NATO Rings Alarm Over Russia’s Might in Mediterranean

NATO military chiefs are raising alarm over what they now view as „a wider strategic plan of Vladimir Putin’s Russia to challenge the west closer to home“; they now fear Russia’s fast-developing arsenal of ship-launched cruise and ballistic missiles is able to restrict the alliance’s „ability to easily deploy military assets“ in the Mediterranean.

Americans want to end the country‘s longest war. Why won‘t Congress listen?

As members of Congress, we take an oath to protect and uphold the US constitution. Yet, for too long, Congress has abdicated its vital role to authorize and supervise our nation’s military actions. The American people deserve a vote, through their congressional representatives, on matters of war and peace.

US General: Iraq Doesn’t Want Russia’s Help

Dunford’s comments mostly didn’t read like this was a conclusive position of the Iraqi government at any rate, but more wishful thinking and politicking by the Pentagon, centering on how great an ally the US is to Iraq and how Iraq would be risking that if they dared accept help from Russia.

So far, Abadi hasn’t made any new comments one way or another, though the nation has already accepted some help from Russia on the intelligence-sharing end of things, and the US dramatically scaled back their own such program with Iraq to “punish” them, suggesting Iraq may be leaning more heavily toward Russia.
