Und das Schlimmste ist, dass sich nichts ändern wird, so lange wir US-Bürger uns von den Politikern einlullen und von Vorurteilen leiten lassen, so lange wir uns nicht von dem durch tägliche Gehirnwäsche erzeugten Glauben befreien, unsere Verfassung bestimme immer noch das Recht und die Gesetze unseres Landes,

Leistungsschutzrecht: Kartellamt hält Googles Vorgehen gegen Verlage für begründet
Google zeigte sich zufrieden mit der Entscheidung. „Das Bundeskartellamt hat klargestellt, dass Googles Reaktion auf das Leistungsschutzrecht keine Diskriminierung der von der VG Media vertretenen Verlage darstellt. Wir begrüßen dies, denn wir möchten keine juristischen Auseinandersetzungen mit Verlagen führen“, teilte der Konzern mit und fügte hinzu: „Viel lieber wollen wir mit ihnen zusammenarbeiten, um Besucher auf ihre Webseiten und Apps zu leiten, ihre Marken online zu stärken und digitalen Journalismus zu fördern.“
In diesem Monat wird zudem die Entscheidung in dem Verfahren vor dem Deutschen Patent- und Markenamt (DPMA) zum Streit zwischen Google und den Verlagen erwartet. Bereits im August 2014 hatte das Kartellamt festgestellt, dass Google im Streit um das Leistungsschutzrecht nicht seine Marktmacht missbraucht.

In der ausführlichen Begründung weist das Kartellamt die in der VG Media organisierten Verlage deutlich in die Schranken. Mit dem Leistungsschutzrecht hätten die Verlage vom Gesetzgeber lediglich ein Instrument bekommen, das am Markt monetarisiert werden könnte. „Das Recht gibt ihnen jedoch keine Gewähr, dass dieser Versuch auch erfolgreich ist“, heißt es weiter. Ein kartellrechtlicher Zwang für Google, sein bislang legales Geschäftsmodell zu ändern, bestehe grundsätzlich nicht. Zudem bestehe am Geschäftsmodell Suchmaschine auch ein Interesse der Allgemeinheit. „Würde das Konzept der universalen Verlinkbarkeit – zu dem notwendig auch die Möglichkeit zur Beschreibung des Links gehört, auch automatisiert – beeinträchtigt, weil Suchmaschinenanbieter zwingend in Geschäftsverhandlungen mit bestimmten Webseitenbetreibern oder deren Repräsentanten eintreten müssten, so wären auch die Nutzer die Leidtragenden“, schreibt das Kartellamt.
Mit Blick auf die Tatsache, dass Googles Wettbewerbern keine kostenlose Nutzung eingeräumt wurde, stellte sich das Kartellamt ebenfalls auf die Seite des Konzerns. Für den Wettbewerbsnachteil der kleinen Suchmaschinen sei „vorrangig nicht Google verantwortlich, sondern die Einführung des Leistungsschutzrechtes, das für alle Suchmaschinenanbieter ein neues rechtliches Risiko geschaffen hat“.

Washington State Supreme Court Rules Public Funding of Private Schools Unconstitutional
A 2012 initiative, backed by Bill Gates, Walmart heiress Alice Walton and a few other wealthy individuals, allowed for the formation of charter schools to be funded as though they were public schools. But the 6-3 court ruling (pdf), released late Friday, noted that they’re not considered “common schools,” since their ruling boards are appointed, not elected. Therefore, “money that is dedicated to common schools is unconstitutionally diverted to charter schools,” Washington Chief Justice Barbara Madsen wrote.
“The Supreme Court has affirmed what we’ve said all along—charter schools steal money from our existing classrooms, and voters have no say in how these charter schools spend taxpayer funding,” Kim Mead, president of the Washington Education Association, said according to the Seattle Times. The Washington Education Association, along with the League of Women Voters, El Centro de la Raza and the Washington Association of School Administrators, brought the suit.

The Boston Transportation Department has been operating a license plate tracking program seeking to identify parking scofflaws, people with expired insurance, stolen cars, and even people suspected of gang and terrorist ties, according to recently discovered documents. Up until a few weeks ago, this sensitive information about thousands of people, including every person with a Boston resident parking permit, was stored online in plain text for the world to see.

Why we‘re bombing Iraq and Syria: Obama and Cameron clear up any confusion
You may be confused about why we are bombing Iraq and Syria. So we will make ourselves very clear.
We support the Iraqi government in the fight against ISIS.
We don‘t like ISIS, but ISIS has been supported by Saudi Arabia, whom we do like, and Saudi Arabia is now supporting us in bombing ISIS.
We don‘t like President Assad in Syria. We support the fight against him, but not ISIS, which is also fighting against him.
We don‘t like Iran, but Iran supports the Iraqi government against ISIS.
So some of our friends support our enemies and some of our enemies are our friends, and some of our enemies are fighting against our other enemies whom we want to lose, but we don‘t want our enemies who are fighting our enemies to win.
If the people we want to defeat are defeated, they might be replaced by people we like even less.
And all this was started by us invading Iraq to drive out terrorists who weren‘t there until we went to drive them out.
