November) Following a petition submitted to the International Criminal Court (ICC) demanding a thorough investigation of former Borno State governor Ali Modu Sheriff and retired Nigerian Army Chief of Staff Lt. General Azubuike Ihejirika, the ICC has confirmed they will review the petition and other supporting documents, which claim the pair were affiliated with the terrorist sect Boko Haram. (…)

In September, the Human and Environmental Development Agenda (HEDA), a non-governmental organization whose mandate is to promote and protect human rights, petitioned the ICC to act on Davis‘ revelations, asserting that the Nigerian government lacked the „political will“ to intervene against high-profile suspects like Sheriff and Ihejirika.

Stephen Davis, the Australian negotiator who sparked off a controversy by naming two prominent Nigerians as sponsors of Boko Haram, has accused the State Security Service (SSS), also known as DSS, of doing the bidding of Ali Modu Sheriff, one of the alleged sponsors of the terror group.

Davis had in August named Ihejirika Azubuike, former chief of army staff, and Ali Modu Sheriff, former governor of Borno state, as sponsors of Boko Haram. Both denied the allegation.

(29. August 2011) Sayyed Zakzaky (H) said that the most annoying thing is that they have chosen to ridicule Islam in the process of achieving their vicious goals. They have declared everything about the Nigerian Muslims as Boko Haram. Though they have not mentioned the Jama’atu Nasril Islam, the Izala group, the Tariqa, the Shi’ah and others directly but they have mentioned all their activities as Boko Haram. They have mentioned the Hussainiyya and the Fudiyya Islamic Center all as Boko Haram in their security reports. What is more surprising is that a dialogue initiated between Muslims and Christians in Jos recently was declared in their report as Boko Haram. They even declared the JNI press conference in which the JNI called for understanding, peace and harmony among Christians and Muslims in Nigeria as Boko Haram, claiming that the call was intended towards deceiving the Christians in order to clampdown on them afterwards. “If one reads through the pages of their security report he would find out that Islam is what they are referring to as Boko Haram in Nigeria” he said. He said that they even mentioned the Muslim Hijab as Boko Haram.

Juni) Sheikh Zakzaky reiterated that, the objective of the MOSSAD and CIA operatives and their SSS allies in Nigeria was not to rescue the abducted girls but to silence the Islamic Movement which has remained the only voice contrary to their actions. “They think they can do everything and no expect everyone to keep silence. We can never be intimated into silence. This is why we became their target”.

The Leader further emphasized that the alleged abduction of school girls was a deception and a ploy to pave way for the official entry of U.S. military into Nigeria to actualize their heinous agenda. “Right from the onset, on their entry, the clearly spelt out their mission. Therefore the girls were abducted by the Nigerian government as a smokescreen, only to release some, as escapees, to make it look real”.

The explosion, which went off at about 2 p.m. before the Imam of the mosque, Sani Zahradeen, began his sermon, was said to have been followed by sporadic gunshots.

The number of casualties is not yet known.

November) The Conference of Nigerian Political Parties, CNPP, has called for the sack of the Inspector General of Police, Suleman Abba, and the Director General of the State Security Service, SSS, Ekpeyong Ita, for allegedly manipulating their organisations for personal gains rather than protecting Nigeria’s democracy.

The group, in a statement by its spokesperson, Osita Okechukwu, on Sunday, said the last week’s attempt to prevent the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Aminu Tambuwal, and other lawmakers from accessing the National Assembly complex and the ransacking of the All Progressives Congress, APC, data centre in Lagos, were indications that the security agencies could endanger the survival of democracy in the country.

The five staff of the All Progressives Congress, APC, who were detained by operatives of the State Security Services, SSS, will spend the weekend in jail after the latter ignored the judge’s order to produce them in court.

Following the inability of the SSS to produce the detainees on Friday, the judge adjourned till Monday.

Chinedu Atuche, Fayemi Olaposi, Augustine Onuchukwu, Ebun Ilori, and Esther Enemy we were arrested last Saturday after SSS operatives, accompanied by police officers, raided a building which the APC said was its data office at Allen Avenue, Lagos.

On Wednesday, Mr. Yunusa ordered the SSS and the Nigerian police to produce the detainees in court today.

On Friday, the detained staff were not in court.

There was also no representative of the Nigeria police.

The St. Louis County grand jury’s decision not to indict the white police officer who in August shot and killed Michael Brown, an unarmed black teenager, would have generated widespread anger and disappointment in any case. But the county prosecutor, Robert McCulloch, who is widely viewed in the minority community as being in the pockets of the police, made matters infinitely worse by handling this sensitive investigation in the worst possible way.

Inzwischen soll die Berliner Staatsanwaltschaft in diesem Fall ermitteln. Nicht nur im BND hat die Affäre für Verärgerung gesorgt, sondern auch in der Bundesregierung. „Zur Unzeit“ sei diese Sache geschehen, heißt es. „Wir können uns jetzt eine Diskussion über den Missbrauch von elektronischen Überwachungsmöglichkeiten eigentlich nicht leisten“, sagt ein Sicherheitsbeamter.

Der Betreiber eines Kinderbordells in Dresden filmte Prominente heimlich bei dem Besuch seines Etablissements. Zu den Besuchern sollen Politiker, Richter und Staatsanwälte gehört haben. Der Bordellbetreiber behauptet, ihm sei eine geringere Strafe angeboten worden, wenn er keine Namen von Besuchern nennt. Den achten die Sicherheitsbehörden natürlich. In der Praxis gibt es damit auch kaum Probleme. Für die Privatgespräche und die Sexualität der Verdächtigen interessiert sich die Polizei ja auch gar nicht.
