In den Standbildern kann man rechts oben neben dem „Spiegel“-Logo auch das von „Amaq“ sehen. „Amaq“ sieht sich selbst als Sprachrohr des „Islamischen Staats“.

Der „Weltspiegel“ hatte die Aufnahmen in seinem Beitrag „Irak: Inside Mossul“ am vergangenen Sonntag ebenfalls gezeigt. Im Gegensatz zu „Spiegel Online“ hat die ARD-Sendung allerdings den Hinweis „Quelle: Propaganda-Video IS“ eingeblendet:

Um die ansprechende Straßenatmosphäre in Mossul zu visualisieren, bediente sich Sydow ausgerechnet des neuesten Propagandamaterials, das der „Islamische Staat“ produziert hat, der die irakische Stadt seit Mitte 2014 im Würgegriff aus Terror und Einschüchterung hält. Amaq News Agency lautet der Name des IS-Sprachrohrs, welches Sydow zunächst ohne jegliche kritische Einordnung oder Kennzeichnung als Materialquelle auffuhr.

The Department of Defense released today the Military Intelligence Program (MIP) appropriated top line budget for FY 2016. The total MIP budget, which included both the base budget and Overseas Contingency Operations appropriations, was $17.7B billion.

The department determined that releasing this top line figure does not jeopardize any classified activities within the MIP. No other MIP budget figures or program details will be released, as they remain classified for national security reasons.
