An airborne drill at Hohenfels – the main headquarters of the US Army’s Joint Multinational Readiness Center – went wrong when C-130 Hercules tactical airlifters began to put HMMWV (Humvee) military off-roaders on the ground.

TTIP: Survey shows plunging support for trade deal in Germany and the US
Support in the US has fallen from 53 per cent in 2014 to 18 per cent today, while Germans in favour of the deal have dropped from 55 per cent two years ago to just 17 per cent in 2016.

The bills proposed by the CPICIBER contain alarming proposals such as:
– Allowing police warrantless access to IP addresses;
– Requiring sites and apps to monitor content to prevent new sharing of materials already deemed offensive by court decision;
– Criminalizing improper computer system access that presents a “risk of misuse or disclosure” of data, even if no actual misuse or disclosure occurs—broad and vague terms that also apply to actions with no criminal intent, jeopardizing legitimate security research that might never be done if obtaining prior permission were a legal requirement;
– Allowing judges, in direct violation of net neutrality rules, to block sites and applications that are used for criminal purposes or that don’t comply with demands for user information.
Überwachungskritisches Urteil zum BKA-Gesetz und zum Staatstrojaner
Mehrfach wird betont, dass es nicht nur um einzelne Überwachungsvorgänge ginge, sondern dass sich Maßnahmen addieren können. Es muss also immer auch eine Gesamtüberwachungsrechnung aufgemacht werden.
Dass das Urteil auch politisch Wirkung zeigen wird, können wir wohl nur hoffen.
