Fracking Ban In Maryland Will Go Into Law After Republican Governor Refuses To Veto
A two-year ban on the natural gas extraction technique passed overwhelmingly in both houses of the state General Assembly earlier this year, and last weekend, Hogan announced that that he would not veto the bill. However, Hogan also said he wouldn’t sign the bill, instead simply allowing it to automatically become law under time restrictions for signing or vetoing. That time restriction expires at the end of the day on Friday.

(7.5.) Unser Streik hat am Dienstag, dem 28. April begonnen. Ein Ende ist zurzeit nicht abzusehen. Die Situation droht weiter zu eskalieren. Die Geschäftsführung droht einzelnen Beschäftigten offen mit Kündigung. Der Arbeitgeber zeigt damit keinesfalls seine Kompromissbereitschaft. Nach unserer Schätzung halten ca. 50 anstelle der 350 Beschäftigten einen Notbetrieb aufrecht; hiervon ca. 20 externe Streikbrecher, die nach letzten Angaben eine zusätzliche Streikbrecherprämie von 150 Euro je Tag erhalten.
Prosegur hat sich nur wenig bewegt (Waffenzulage 30 Cent und Mehrarbeitszu-schlag) – die meisten Mantelforderungen: Jubiläumszuwendung, Gesundheitszulage, Urlaubsgeld lehnt die Geschäftsführung prinzipiell ab!
Die Geschäftsführung bietet jetzt anstelle der obigen Tarifpunkte einen Standortzuschlag an, womit die Beschäftigten einverstanden wären: aber anstelle von 1 Euro (ver.di) nur 65 Cent. Und nur unter der Bedingung, dass der Krankenstand auf 4 Prozent sinkt. Der wurde aber mit 4,2 Prozent nicht einmal im Juni 2014 erreicht, dem Monat mit den wenigsten Krankschreibungen. Entgegen aller Versprechen haben die sozialdemokratischen Abgeordneten im Ausschuss für den Investitionsschutz gestimmt. Änderungsanträge, die eine grundlegende Absage an Klagerechte beinhalteten, wurden abgelehnt. There is no question that the federal government should have broad authority to investigate terrorism threats and suspected spies operating in the United States. This is particularly critical in light of the Islamic State’s quest to inspire people in the United States to carry out attacks. But the government has not offered persuasive evidence that bulk collection of phone records has been crucial to foiling plots. Besides, federal officials retain authority to conduct surveillance by other means.

Kudla contacted me via telephone at 1:37pm (Eastern Standard Time) and agreed to give an official DIA comment to my questions concerning the declassified 2012 DIA intelligence report released through Freedom of Information Act request to Judicial Watch (14-L-0552/DIA/287-293).

While initial mainstream media reporting is focused on the White House’s handling of the Benghazi consulate attack, a much “bigger picture” admission and confirmation is contained in one of the Defense Intelligence Agency documents circulated in 2012: that an ‘Islamic State’ is desired in Eastern Syria to effect the West’s policies in the region.

Der übliche Tand und Schmuck an Versprechungen für die seit Einführung des Euro-Finanzsystems rücksichtslos systemisch Ausgeplünderten ist lächerlich. Und der Bluff der “Zwei Europas” bzw ein “Europa der zwei Geschwindigkeiten” ist die schon am 4. September 2011 vom “Spiegel” heraus geblasene uralte Nummer von Angela Merkel und Gerhard Schröder, nach dem Aufprall der (internationalen) Nomenklatura am Grundgesetz.
Auch dem Premierminister seiner Majestät, David Cameron, geht es beim heutigen Besuch von Kanzlerin Merkel in Berlin, sowie beim anstehenden Gipfel des “Europäischen Rates” Ende Juni in Brüssel, explizit um die Zerschlagung eines souveränen Deutschlands – einer souveränen Republik Deutschland, wohlgemerkt. Auch für Cäser Obama hat dies geostrategische Priorität.

Is Germany losing yet another world war?

Losing face supporting the morally and financially bankrupt regime they brought to power in Ukraine, losing their debt leverage over other European countries – which could bring about the end of the EuroReich, losing their unique niche in the world market. And this is without mentioning smaller issues, such as losing the Russian market due to the “sanction war”, and other direct consequences of the conflict.

[…] Go ahead and see how many messages in your chats have locations attached. I’m guessing it’s a lot of them. And if this isn’t already starting to get a bit weird, the first thing I noticed when I started to write my code was that the latitude and longitude coordinates of the message locations have more than 5 decimal places of precision, making it possible to pinpoint the sender’s location to less than a meter.
Dismayingly, this location-based service on the part of the Messenger app is the product of a default setting, so untold numbers of users may not be aware that their whereabouts are automatically charted. What’s more, notes Khanna, the automatic setup enables people to monitor the movements of friends and acquaintances.
Gawker posted a follow-on to Khanna’s initial report Thursday:
Khanna updated his post to say that Facebook has notified him that “they are fixing this issue”— but that’s a fundamental, naive misunderstanding of how the site works. This wasn’t an “issue” that required a “fix” until someone pointed out how uncomfortable and sinister it is that a corporation had lured us into providing them with this level of personal information. Facebook Messenger didn’t just erupt, spontaneously, from some primordial code bog; it was designed some of the smartest and most deliberate engineers in the world. If it’s creepy, it’s creepy on purpose.
And that is how the quaint notion of privacy goes the way of the dodo, one instant message at a time.
