Germany does not have to stop the US from using its Ramstein airbase to coordinate drone strikes in Yemen, a Cologne court has ruled. The decision comes on a case filed by three Yemenis who lost relatives in a strike.

Judicial Watch: Defense, State Department Documents Reveal Obama Administration Knew that al Qaeda Terrorists Had Planned Benghazi Attack 10 Days in Advance
(18.Mai) The new documents also provide the first official confirmation that shows the U.S. government was aware of arms shipments from Benghazi to Syria. The documents also include an August 2012 analysis warning of the rise of ISIS and the predicted failure of the Obama policy of regime change in Syria.
The documents were released in response to a court order in accordance with a May 15, 2014, Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) lawsuit filed against both the DOD and State Department seeking communications between the two agencies and congressional leaders “on matters related to the activities of any agency or department of the U.S. government at the Special Mission Compound and/or classified annex in Benghazi.”

NSA-BND-Affäre: US-Schachzug gegen Merkel?
Man mauerte intern, es war tabu zu fragen, warum all dies möglich ist; der Parlamentsklub war brav auf der via Pilz vorgegebenen Linie. Zuvor attackierter Pilz permanent mit Medienunterstützung die Parteibasis, da über ihn das Modell einer vollkommen offenen, leicht zu übernehmenden Partei propagiert wurde. Die Basis sollte nur mehr für andere rennen, ohne mitzubestimmen, man wollte aus den Grünen einen „Brückenkopf“ machen, so hiess es in einem der Papiere zur Parteireform, an dessen Rand ich „militärisch/geheimdienstliche Sprache“ notierte. Gemauert wird natürlich auch heute, wo Geschäftsführer Wallner die Flucht ergriff, als ich ihm vorschlug, es Punkt für Punkt durchzugehen; schliesslich wurde mir und anderen massiv Schaden zugefügt, weil wir nicht auf NATO-Linie waren. „Ich wollte für ein souveränes, neutrales Österreich Politik machen und nicht US-Interessen dienen“, sagte ich in Richtung Wallner, mit anderen Worten also meine verfassungsmässigen Rechte wahrnehmen, was in den Grünen nicht möglich ist.
NSA soll auch Swisscom-Leitungen abgehört haben
Auf der Liste aus dem Jahr 2005 figurieren neun Leitungen, die einen Endpunkt in der Schweiz haben – sieben in Zürich und zwei in Genf. Als Netzbetreiberin wird in allen neun Fällen Swisscom angegeben. Woher Pilz die Liste hat, wollte er nicht sagen. Er habe sie aber „mehrfach verifiziert“.

DLR, a strong advocate for a HiROS partnership with US industry, said it could add an X-band transceiver dedicated for a US customer (ensuring secure and private tasking). However, DLR noted that Germany first needs some kind of near-term indication of support from the USG. They said that if provisions for an X-band antenna are not made within the next couple of months, this option would likely not be possible due to the systems aggressive project development plan. (C) Eckardt said that DLR is making considerable progress in processing optical satellite data into three-dimensional (3D) models, with a goal of doing this in real time (RT) within the next 3-5 years. He described DLR,s rapid technical progress in reducing processing time, from about an hour six-months ago to 30 minutes today. According to Eckardt, the next steps will be to create RT-3D models using radar, infrared and multi-spectral data sources. Once this is mastered, DLR will seek to fuse all imagery data together into one master 3D model.

FBI Director James Comey has called bulk phone collection a useful tool to the FBI‘s counterterrorism efforts. But recently he has expressed more concern about being able to maintain the lone wolf and roving wiretap capabilities, as well as a separate Patriot Act provision that allows the FBI to obtain secret court orders to collect documents such as hotel and travel records during terrorism investigations, and which also would be affected by the deadline.
TISA: Yet Another Leaked Treaty You‘ve Never Heard Of Makes Secret Rules for the Internet
A February 2015 draft of the secret Trade In Services Agreement (TISA) was leaked again last week, revealing a more extensive and more recent text than that of portions from an April 2014 leak that we covered last year. Together with the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) and the Trans-Atlantic Trade and Investment Partnership (TTIP), TISA completes a trifecta of trade agreements that the administration could sign under Fast Track without full congressional oversight.
Although it is the least well-known of those agreements, it is the broadest in terms of membership. As far as we know, it presently includes twenty countries plus Europe (but notably excluding the major emerging world economies of the BRICS bloc), who, with disdainful levity, have adopted the mantle “the Really Good Friends of Services”. Like its sister agreements, TISA will enact global rules that impact the Internet, bypassing the transparency and accountability of national parliaments.
