Scotland’s most substantial local authority pension scheme has been sharply criticized for investing £83 million in 11 of the world’s biggest arms firms. At the close of 2014, Glasgow City Council’s Strathclyde Pension Fund had shares amounting to £19.6 million in Lockheed Martin and Boeing – two of the biggest arms manufacturers on the planet.

Parameters for a Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action regarding the Islamic Republic of Iran’s Nuclear Program
Below are the key parameters of a Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) regarding the Islamic Republic of Iran’s nuclear program that were decided in Lausanne, Switzerland. These elements form the foundation upon which the final text of the JCPOA will be written between now and June 30, and reflect the significant progress that has been made in discussions between
the P5+1, the European Union, and Iran. Important implementation details are still subject to negotiation, and nothing is agreed until everything is agreed. We will work to conclude the JCPOA based on these parameters over the coming months.
HUGE thanks to our terrific team of U.S. diplomats and experts. Simply could not do #IranTalks without them.

Big day: #EU, P5+1, and #Iran now have parameters to resolve major issues on nuclear program. Back to work soon on a final deal.

Obama starts speaking.
He says he is convinced that if this framework leads to a deal, it will make the US, her allies and the world safer.
He says the deal has been a long time coming, and briefly cites the history of international economic sanctions imposed on Iran and the decades of Iran building up its nuclear program. The president says the sanctions policy is what got Iran to the negotiating table.

Julian Assange: ‚I still enjoy crushing bastards‘
«I used to say that the way things work in the West now is journalists are not taken from their homes in the middle of the night, but rather homes are taken from journalists in the middle of the day, by making sure that they are fired by their employer or that they are litigated. In the United States and in the West broadly, there are many ways to shut up journalists that do not involve killing them, many ways to dilute, not necessarily censor, but to dilute out of existence, the impact of their publication. The matrix of relationships in which powerful organisations and people are embedded such is that it is quite hard to disturb those relationships through publishing».

Current Nuke talks’ outcome would be joint statement, not agreement
However, he underlined that the exact time for issuing the statement is not clear.
The P5+1(the US, UK, France, Russia, China, and Germany) members need more time to confer among themselves, the Iranian FM added.
Zarif: It was not expected to seal a deal this round. We will have one deal which will be signed by end June.

Whatever happens at #IranTalks don‘t forget that this is truly historic. It will be almost like a miracle if they make an agreement.

Unidentified troops land in Aden after Houthis seize center

European Commission Discovers The Hard Way That Corporate Sovereignty Provisions And EU Laws Are Incompatible
The US government and European Commission insist that the inclusion of a corporate sovereignty chapter in the TAFTA/TTIP treaty will not in any way diminish the ability of nations to pass laws as they wish. A fascinating case involving an investment in Romania shows why that‘s just not true. It concerns a state aid scheme instituted by Romania to attract investments in the country, which offered tax breaks or refunds of customs duties on raw materials. The scheme was supposed to remain in place for 10 years. But as part of Romania‘s accession to the EU, it was required to cancel this scheme, which was regarded by the European Commission as providing unfair state aid. So, obediently, Romania abolished the scheme in 2005, some years earlier than it had promised.

Release of joint statement needs coordination among G5+1 members: FM
Speaking to reporters, Zarif said that there have been progress in talks between Iran and G5+1, noting that there is still distance towards reaching a final agreement.
Various members of the G5+1 have different attitudes towards resolution of Iran’s nuclear issue and release of press statement needs coordination among all the member states’ representatives, Zarif said.

How did France become more hawkish on Iran than the U.S.?
Washington was angered at France‘s last-minute reluctance to sign on to an interim nuclear deal that was finally agreed to in late 2013. Back then, Fabius insisted on the toughening of language on Iran‘s right to enrich uranium and on its plutonium reactor at Arak, changes to a draft deal that Washington later embraced.
Obama Told Iran Nuclear Negotiators to Disregard Deadline in 11th Hour
There was no way to meet the deadline, Mr. Kerry said from the tent, which was designed to defeat eavesdropping. The Iranians, he said, perhaps sensing that the deadline meant a lot in Washington and little in Tehran, were intransigent.
“They were turning our own deadline against us to see if we would give ground,” just to be able to claim that the March 31 date had been met, said one senior official, who would not be identified because of the secrecy surrounding the talks.

Joint List leads march to Jerusalem demanding recognition and equal rights for Bedouin
There are still a few weeks before head of the Joint List Ayman Odeh begins his first term in Israel’s parliament, yet he has already led a protest across the country. This past weekend Odeh led the “March for Recognition” with hundreds of Bedouins who live in unrecognized villages. The 130 kilometer trek from the southern Negev desert to Jerusalem officially ended on President Reuven Rivlin’s doorstep Sunday afternoon.
