When presidential power is used to extend empire, to spread violence or to bomb sovereign nations, it always seems permissible to Congress and the corporate media. But using presidential power to help people, to close Guantánamo, „dramatically“ upsets the controlling interests in Congress and the media.

The Army Operating Concept (AOC) describes how future Army forces will prevent conflict, shape security environments, and win wars while operating as part of our Joint Force and working with multiple partners. The AOC guides future force development by identifying first order capabilities that the Army needs to support U.S. policy objectives. It provides the intellectual foundation and framework for learning and for applying what we learn to future
force development under Force 2025 and Beyond.

With US politicians and the American media engaged in an increasingly acrimonious debate over the strategy guiding the latest US war in the Middle East, the United States Army has unveiled a new document entitled the Army Operating Concept (AOC), which provides a “vision of future armed conflict” that has the most ominous implications. It is the latest in a series of documents in which the Pentagon has elaborated the underlying strategy of preventive war that was unveiled in 1992—that is, the use of war as a means of destroying potential geopolitical and economic rivals before they acquire sufficient power to block American domination of the globe.

The document was formally released at this week’s Association of the United States Army (AUSA) conference, an annual event bringing together senior officers and Defense Department officials for a series of speeches and panel discussions, along with a giant trade show mounted by arms manufacturers to show off their latest weapons systems and pursue lucrative Pentagon contracts.

The Obama administration has put folks who leaked info to the media in jail for 526 months as compared to 24 months for all other Presidents combined. Admittedly, 420 of those months went to Chelsea Manning, but even if you take that out, we‘re still talking 106 months for other leakers in cases from this one administration vs. 24 months for all other administrations.

(14. Oktober) We are gathering together a coalition of Sunni Muslims to fight ISIS, but Saudi Arabia and the Gulf states have been supporting the export of fanatical Islam for years. NATO ally Turkey has been letting foreign fighters cross into Syria to fight for ISIS, and keeping Kurds in so they can’t fight against ISIS. When vice president Biden pointed out these contradictions to Harvard students recently, he had to make formal apologies to our allies, thereby contradicting himself.
