Relatives of two Russian journalists from the VGTRK TV corporation, killed in Ukraine, have appealed to the European Court of Human Rights demanding that those behind the killings be found.

CGIL leader Susanna Camusso said Monday that Italy‘s biggest trade union confederation will call a general strike to protest against the government‘s Jobs Act labour reform after a big demonstration on October 25.

The small center-left PRG (Radical Party of the Left) has threatened to quit France‘s Socialist-led government unless a 2015 budget includes more concessions to a pressured middle class, putting at risk a fragile parliamentary majority.

(23. FEBRUAR 2013) Es gibt schon keine Begriffe mehr um meine Abscheu vor der gesamten Kaste der etablierten Parteien in Deutschland in Worte zu fassen. Aber Frankreich…

Ich stelle mir vor, wie sie einrücken, das Volk der Republik, in den Elysee-Palast und dann diese ganze Bande von Verrätern, von Kollaborateuren, von Schändern und Schindern hinaus fegen, hinaus, auf die Straße und in die Gosse in die sie uns schicken wollten damit wir verrecken, für ihr “Europa”. Ich stelle mir einen Sturm vor, der sich erhebt und dieses Abziehbild Francois Hollande von der Fünften Republik kratzt. Ich stelle mir vor, wie sie sich erheben gegen diese Unterwerfung, diese Schande, dieses so unbeschreiblich Erbärmliche, Dämliche, Klägliche und Lächerliche, zu dem Frankreich durch eine nach oben geschwemmte Schicht von Nichts gemacht worden ist.

Und dann stelle ich mir vor, dass eine Kapelle, die es offensichtlich nicht mehr gibt, in einem Cafe, in dem ich sitze und Niemand bin außer Trinker, der sich dieses verdammte “Lieb Euroland” anhören muss das diese Horde nobler Schlipsuniformen und Prothesen an den reservierten Tischen trunken im Wahn vor sich hin trompetet, plötzlich anhebt zu spielen. Und dass sie aufspringen und endlich wieder anfangen dieses Lied zu singen, zu singen, als ob es um ihr Leben geht…

Oktober) France this week stepped up what has become an open revolt by some of the eurozone’s bigger economies against Chancellor Angela Merkel’s continued demands for deficit reduction in the face of slowing growth. Italy has warned against too rigidly following Germany’s preferred approach. Even the president of the European Central Bank, Mario Draghi, is pushing for Germany to loosen up.

The Italian government is not effective in restoring jobs and helping people, said Beppe Grillo, the leader of Italy‘s anti-establishment M5S, which burst onto the political scene last year winning 25 percent of the vote in its first parliamentary election in 2013.

“Leave the euro and defend the sovereignty of the Italian people from the European Central Bank,” Grillo told his supporters at a M5S event in Rome.

“We have to leave the euro as soon as possible,” he said. “We will collect one million signatures in six months and bring them to the Parliament to ask for a referendum to express our opinion.”

Britain‘s anti-EU UK Independence Party said on Sunday it would use its growing success to try to secure an early referendum on leaving the European Union, after its support hit a record high of 25 percent in an opinion poll.
