Ukraine, Middle East on UNGA agenda

„Washington needs international legitimacy,” says head of the Center for Socio-Political Studies Vladimir Yevseyev. “In fact, the Americans are fighting not for Iraq but for Iraqi Kurdistan. Judging by the location of their airstrikes, they are at pains to make sure that the Kurds do not suffer. Hence the question: Aren‘t the Americans going to set up a de jure independent Kurdistan?

Al-Jaafari: Israel wants occupied Golan to be without int’l monitoring…Qatari, Saudi and Turkish intelligence responsible for funding terrorism

He noted that Syria has handed official documents and facts to the UN Secretary General that prove the involvement of the governments of Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Turkey and Jordan in supporting Jabhat al-Nusra and the other terrorist organizations.

The information even included the phone number of the Qatari officer who was “coordinating for the kidnapping of the Fijian UNDOF personnel, al-Jaafari noted.

“The UN General Assembly however did not lift a finger regarding that,” he lamented.

Sacrificing the Vulnerable, From Gaza to America

The insistence that austerity and economic rationality, rather than the welfare of the citizenry, be the primary concerns of the government is not politics. It is the death of civic virtue. The government’s system of wholesale surveillance and the militarization of police forces, along with the psychosis of permanent war and state-orchestrated fear of terrorism, are not politics. They are about eradicating civil liberties and justifying endless war and state violence. The chatter about death panels, abortion, gay rights, guns and undocumented children crossing the border is not politics. It is manipulation by the power elites of emotion, hate and fear to divert us from seeing our own powerlessness.

Today Congress will vote on the McKeon Amendment, a piece of legislation most Americans haven‘t heard of

Today Congress will vote on the McKeon Amendment, a piece of legislation most Americans haven‘t heard of.

The consequences of the vote today are grave: funding Syrian „rebels“ will precipitate a new and wider war in the Middle East.

In this article I detail eight major reasons why Congress should vote NO on the McKeon Amendment to the Continuing Appropriations bill, which itself predicts how US trained rebels will attack US military. The projected costs of this debacle are at least $21 billion.

Israelis race to find Ebola vaccine

(12. August) The two scientists study the unusually strong immune response of the survivors and then work to isolate monoclonal antibodies that neutralize the virus in their lab at Ben-Gurion University of the Negev’s Center for Emerging Diseases, Tropical Diseases and AIDS.
Yavelsky and Lobel’s monoclonal antibody-based therapeutic approach was proven as a successful potential treatment by their colleagues in the US military, and at several other laboratories.

Social Data for Ebola Surveillance

Social media, local news, and mobile phone data are helping researchers develop tools to track and predict the path of the ongoing Ebola outbreak.

Nine days before the World Health Organization (WHO) declared the Ebola epidemic, a “mystery hemorrhagic fever” was spotted by HealthMap, software that mines government websites, social networks, and local news reports, among other sources, to map potential disease outbreaks. Run by researchers based at Boston Children’s Hospital, HealthMap uses “online informal sources for disease outbreak monitoring and real-time surveillance of emerging public health threats,” according to its website.

Foreign Ministry: Turkish government is continuing its misleading propaganda campaign against Syria

In a statement on Wednesday, the source said that the destructive role played by the Turkish government when it comes to Syria has become clear, as this government harbors terrorists, trains them, arms them, and facilitates their entry into Syria, in addition to providing them with chemical materials – something which the Turkish judiciary is still investigating – and purchasing oil stolen from Syria by ISIS gangs, not to mention dismantling Syrian factories and stealing their components in order to undermine infrastructure and the progress made by Syria in the field of development.

Obama arrived in Tampa on Tuesday evening and will meet with Centcom commander Gen. Lloyd Austin III and other leaders at MacDill, including members of the Centcom international coalition.
