(31.05.2013) On Monday, Turkish special anti-terror forces arrested 12 suspected members of the Al-Nusra Front, the Al-Qaeda affiliated group which has been dubbed „the most aggressive and successful arm” of the Syrian rebels. The group was designated a terrorist organization by the United States in December.

Die türkische Polizei hatte bei Razzien gegen Anhänger der Al-Nusra Front – dem syrischen Zweig der Al-Quaida – zwei Kilo Sarin gefunden. Das ist genau jene Sorte von Giftgas, das in den letzten Tagen in den deutschen Medien eine Riesenrolle spielt. Auch die Erkenntnis, dass dieses Gift aus den Beständen des „befreiten“ Libyen stammen und dort eigentlich unter der Kontrolle der US-Armee lagern sollte, war den deutschen Medien keine Meldung wert.

Die aktuellen Umfragen zur Bundestagswahl lassen ein Patt zwischen CDU / FDP auf der einen und SPD / Grüne / Linke auf der anderen Seite erwarten. Wenige Hunderttausende Stimmen können die Wahl entscheiden, entscheiden ob die FDP, oder die Piraten in den Bundestag kommen, ob die in der Öffentlichkeit sich gegenüber stehenden Blöcke gewinnen oder verlieren. Die Argumente für einen Einsatz einer westlichen Allianz in Syrien sind haarsträubend. Völkerrecht wird ersetzt mit moralischem Recht, der Giftgas-Anschlag im Mai ausgeblendet. Und das permanent pakistanische Zivilisten durch amerikanische Drohnen abgeschossen werden? Spielt keine Rolle. Der Einfluss auf die Ölförderung darf nicht gefährdet werden. Dafür ist jede Rechts- und Moralverdrehung recht.
