Proteste in Argentinien gegen den Einsatz von Glyphosat
In Argentinien ist die Anwendung von Glyphosat in der Hauptstadt Buenos Aires und in Teilen einiger Provinzen verboten. Nachdem ein Zusammenhang zwischen dem Einsatz von Glyphosat und dem drastischen Anstieg des Krebsrisikos in der Provinz Santa Fe nachgewiesen werden konnte, ist dessen Verwendung dort seit dem Jahr 2010 im Umkreis von Wohngebieten untersagt. Im selben Jahr legte das Oberste Gericht Argentiniens die Umkehrung der Beweislast fest, der zufolge die Anwender von Agrochemikalien den Sicherheitsnachweis gegenüber der betroffenen Bevölkerung zu erbringen haben.

Zudem hat der Anbau der Monokultur – sowohl als konventionelle wie auch genveränderte Soja – in Campeche bereits zu umfangreicher Entwaldung und Kontaminierung des Grundwassers durch Glyphosat geführt.
