Entire northern pocket of rebel-held east Aleppo collapses as government forces advance
District after district have fallen to the Syrian Arab Army (SAA), forcing the jihadist rebels to rapidly retreat south in order to avoid being overrun and outflanked by the pressing forces in eastern Aleppo.
On Monday morning, the jihadist rebels suffered another string of defeats at the hands of the government forces, resulting in the capture of the entire northern pocket of east Aleppo.
Syrien: The Day After für den Bundesnachrichtendienst

Washington Post Disgracefully Promotes a McCarthyite Blacklist From a New, Hidden, and Very Shady Group
The Washington Post on Thursday night promoted the claims of a new, shadowy organization that smears dozens of U.S. news sites that are critical of U.S. foreign policy as being “routine peddlers of Russian propaganda.” The article by reporter Craig Timberg — headlined “Russian propaganda effort helped spread ‘fake news’ during election, experts say” — cites a report by an anonymous website calling itself PropOrNot, which claims that millions of Americans have been deceived this year in a massive Russian “misinformation campaign.”
Washington Post gets exposed, and all major U.S. ‘News’ media refuse to report It
The most important news-story since the U.S. Presidential election has been the blockbuster by Glenn Greenwald and Ben Norton at The Intercept, headlining at 1:17 on the afternoon of November 26th, „Washington Post Disgracefully Promotes a McCarthyite Blacklist From a New, Hidden, and Very Shady Group”.
Journalists Decry Washington Post’s Story on Source That ‘Blacklisted’ Truthdig and Other Outlets
Glenn Greenwald’s and other journalists’ criticism (below) refers to a recent Washington Post article that suggested Truthdig and numerous other news outlets were propagandists for Russia. The Post’s story is based on unsubstantiated allegations by an anonymous organization. Truthdig never has and never would propagandize for anyone.
Obama Empowers Special Forces for Clandestine Killings Worldwide
The creation of this new “elite” force with this broad new authority included Obama defining “best practices” for special forces killings outside of conventional conflict zones. The details of this are totally unclear, though officials say these rules are distinct from the rules for the CIA’s own assassination programs worldwide.
The U.S. Army Cannot Evict Us From Treaty Lands
The Army Corps has no authority to evict us from these lands. The Oceti Sakowin encampment is located on the ancestral homeland of the Lakota, Mandan, Arikara, and Northern Cheyenne – on territory never ceded to the U.S. government, and affirmed in the 1851 Treaty of Ft. Laramie as sovereign land belonging to the Great Sioux Nation.
Police at Standing Rock Are Using Life-Threatening Crowd-Control Weapons to Crack Down on Water Protectors
In a 4-minute SoundCloud interview with the Indigenous Environmental Network, Angela Bibens describes the devastating effects of tear gas, rubber bullets, concussion grenades, mace, and water cannons used on 400 peaceful protestors in North Dakota by local police in the last 48 hours. The confrontation arose as protestors attempted to move two burned trucks off Backwater Bridge just north of the Oceti Sakowin „Water Protector“ Camp, which had blocked the main route to the city of Bismarck and delayed emergency services.
Presidents Can’t Use National Security Concerns as an Excuse to Spy on Critics
Until 40 years ago, American presidents regularly used surveillance powers for their own political ends. Watergate, of course, was perhaps the best-known example of such activity — and not coincidentally, it was also perhaps the last. In the wake of President Richard Nixon’s abuses of individual rights and government resources to enact political vengeance, a shocked American public demanded that Congress ensure that the president’s crimes could not be repeated.
