EFF Files Supreme Court Amicus Brief Over Warrantless Searches of Hotel Records
The Electronic Frontier Foundation (EFF) today filed an amicus brief with the U.S. Supreme Court in a challenge brought by hotel owners against a Los Angeles city ordinance that allows police to access guest registers without consent, warrant, or other legal process. Supporting the hotel owners, EFF argues that people must have the right to challenge surveillance laws like these on Fourth Amendment grounds, even before police have used the law to conduct a suspicionless search.

„Europas Integrität“ und „Europas Seele“ verlangen demzufolge von der EU-Peripherie die Preisgabe eigenständiger Traditionen und eigener Handlungsspielräume zugunsten der Unterordnung unter eine deutsch geprägte Aggressionspolitik. Beide bedroht es hingegen nicht, fremde Staaten mit Krieg zu überziehen (Libyen) oder Kriege dort zu unterstützen (Syrien), Foltergefängnisse auf eigenem Territorium zu dulden (Polen, Rumänien) oder Beihilfe zu Verschleppung und Folter Verdächtiger sowie zu Drohnen-Exekutionen ohne Gerichtsurteil zu leisten (Deutschland, german-foreign-policy.com berichtete [11]). Die Weltmachtpolitik, der all dies entspringt, mit einer eigenständigen Außenpolitik in Frage zu stellen – das ist in der deutsch dominierten EU nicht erlaubt.

Es ist einfach unglaublich, dass ein Wirtschaftswissenschaftler wie Heiner Flassbeck den Vorschlag der Umlaufsicherung nicht kennt.

This isn‘t about „piracy“ in any real sense. The games and software being discussed are not being sold anywhere. The hardware that it worked on is long gone. This is about preserving our cultural history — something that industry appears to have no interest in doing, in part because copyright law itself makes it so risky.
